houston will end up having to trade him at some point.

they simply OVER VALUED him in the trade market.

Ainge should say NO when they call back in a week...offer them Bass & Lee but for Asik and T. Jones ......the price for not grabbing the better deal when it was on your lap.

Do tie up toooooooooooo much salary in this guy, we need to trade for a top player , then we can look at Sully and Bradley and make offers, then we can look to extend Rondo, then we can look for a player like the Rockets bench center player.

How can it be too much salary tied up when he only has 1 year remaining after this season?

You really think you can get a quality NBA Center for less than 10m per year?
Math don't lie - the Cs would be freeing up long term dollars with this pick!

Asik's cap hit is only 8.4m this season and 8.4m next season.

I don't get why you think we will be overpaying for Asik.
Because he is the 40th ranked center in the league this year in PER.

Why do you think Houston wants to get rid of him?

Did Houston want to get rid of Asik when Dwight Howard was playing for the Lakers?

    Stop being a smartazz!

When Asik started 82 games last season, he averaged a double-double in the regular season and he also averaged a double-double in the playoffs.

If the Celtics had Chris Paul, they would be getting rid of Rondo too.

    Get it?

Dwight Howard is not Chris Paul.

    EXTEND RONDO??????????????

rajon is not even worth the 25 mil he's due this year and next.  most extensions mean a RAISE so that would mean we pay north of 13 mil per year for a 55% free throw shooting mercurial PG whose best days are likely behind him?  Surprised

    Re: Asik not with Houston

We will see, the price for the Houston center, that is so much greater than what we have, has not been set yet, they are now asking for our frist round draft choice.  The guy better be good , there is no long term deal etither.  It is a gamble with money that could make a difference later.  How do you know what he will want to resign.  Rental, could be.
