Sign him long term before the season ends. I think B.B is worth about 6 million per season in todays market.

I'd rather lose Baby and have a championship at the end of the season than trade Baby and not make the Finals this season.

With the Celtics the future is NOW!

The Celtics already underpaid Baby once before. I don't think the Celtics can do it a second time.

It's either Perk or Baby, can't have both.

damned be the future beyond this year in favor of betting the farm that already slow and painful to watch perkins is going to be even worth having on the floor much at all?  wow.

davis will likely deserve to be paid, and the team will need his services more than ever with a kg one year older and jerlame o'neal surely to be calcified down to 35 games next year, if here at all.  also- an expiring kg contract may be attractive to someone......

perkins has rarely gone over 28 mins a game in his career.  so even if he can do that (a stretch) there's 20 minutes @ center and 18-20 KG minutes we still need to cover, no?  plenty of time for healthy bodied davis to get 25 to 30 mins.

for the things that he does (when is the league going to start keeping the stat "CT" for charges taken), davis is a bargain @ 6 mill a year but i think he'd sign for it.  we'd be dumb to let this talent go, after this year kg is... just about done with his contract and effectiveness life span.

The reason why I think Davis will leave is there will be a team out there crazy enough to offer him 8-9m per year. I don't think the Celtics will match that.

When Lakers fans like Rummymchale want him gone, you KNOW he is a reliable player.  If he stays he is clearly a frontrunner as our sixth man, depending on how Delonte works out.

AND what is UP with Nate's shooting these days?

Re: BIG BABY WILL GET A BIG CONTRACT!

Why not sign BB and also Perk.  They will be the only current young guys who can rebound and defend the paint after the old codgers are gone.  For Rondo to renew his contract in 3 years you must give him some beef. Plus- Rondo likes Perk.  The only thing that would make more sense would be to trade BB for Critterdon and Marc Gasol.  Then you can trade Marc and Critterdon for Pau.

BB is to a lesser degree like Rondo, a very unique talent.  Keeping him under contract is common sense.  Perkins it remains to be seen if he should be resigned.   BBD is different, keep him.

Isn't that a little steep price for Pau?  He has already hit his peek and is ready to decline from now on.  With Kobe getting stiffer, why would one trade for any junk on the Lakers roster.

We have the inside track and can resign the guy with an extension for six years for 30 mil, good deal for the Celts.

If he keep knocking down the mid-range jumper, 30 million may not be enough...

BB takes the charging call better than anyone in the league...

Let's face it.  He could be a starting PF for an average team and ask for a $10M per season contract.  Who needs a better starting PF? Indiana, Milwaukee, Denver, and Phoenix.

Very few teams are giving contract extensions now.  I would try to sign him for cheap but long-term or gamble and sign him at the end of the season.
Maybe those 4 teams may be desperate at the trade deadline.

Re: BIG BABY WILL GET A BIG CONTRACT!

Celtics better match anything other teams offer. Glen Davis is the REAL DEAL. He has proven to be tough, clutch, and still improving.  Davis is easily a starter and possibly an all star soon.  His skill set is rare for this size. YOU CANNOT LET HIM LEAVE.
