Re: Bleacher Report ranks C's as 2nd worst team in NBA

Rondo will be held back until he is 100%.  Without a point guard this team just does not have the creativity to do much.  Last year Paul Pierce stepped into that role.  KG is a pretty good passer too.  Pressy will get an opportunity to shine but he went undrafted for a reason.

A bunch of low efficiency players will be putting up numbers, a sure formula for losing.  Once Rondo is back in the 2nd. half of the season, things will pick up.  But I don't see them at 2nd. worst.  Perhaps in the 5 worst.

Rondo, Brooks, Green, Olynyk, and Faverani should start.

Backed up by Pressey, Bogan, Wallace, Sullinger, and Humphries.

This team is better than people think.

So you just want to sit a young bradley in favor of an old Bogans who made $800,000 for a reason last year.

Bradley has gone downhill. He did nothing in the playoffs.

I think the league adjusted to him.

No way we finish 29th. I see us in the 5-10th pick range for next years draft. Don't see us landing a top 3 pick. It think Wiggins will end up in either Phili, or Orlando. No need to tank anyways. We're too young (& dumb), and too small to even finish 11th in the east. Let'm play, they'll see.

I agree.  It would be great for the Celtics to end up with one of the worst records in the NBA but I am not sure that this will happen.  We will find out when the season begins and if Rondo is healthy and doesn't miss many games.

Are we really that much better than Philly?

Rondo vs Micheal Carter Williams (with Rondo coming back from ACL)

    Bradley vs Jason Richardson

    Jeff Green vs Evan Turner

Bass/Sullinger vs Thaddeus Young/Moultrie (Sullinger bad back)

    Oly/Fav vs Nerlens/Hawes

Objectively, I don't see how we are better than Philly.  Rondo is a big question mark and in that match up Jeff Green is the other position that we might have a little advantage but which Jeff Green is going to show up each night?  This team was barely a .500 team with KG and Pierce.  People are having too high of an opinion on the current roster.

This is the 8 best team in the East if Rondo misses a lot of time they fall to maybe the 10th pick. While you can get a player tanking for a 10th pick is a bit silly.

In Rondo's absence, Jeff Green is their best player.  While a good player, JG isn't leading this team anywhere except to the lottery.

    .............................................................................................................................

Rondo, Green, and Olynyk are all pretty good players. Wallace was an allstar, Humphries was a double double guy, Bradley is a great defender, Pressey looks good, Faverani has some skills, etc...

It's not like we are starting Ryan Gomes and Sebastian Telfair.

No, but in reality, we could be starting Phil Pressey & Fab Melo

Pressey, Bradley, Green, Sullinger, Melo are our starting 5 .... thats a sure thing to the lottery.

Why would a smart coach like Stevens start a team like that???

Rondo, Brooks, Green, Olynyk, and Faverani should be the starting five.

I think I'll need to see the roster when the season starts.  I'm assuming Rondo plays at a high level for the majority of the season.  He may still get traded.  Then who knows what a move like that could bring.  Also we really haven't got a starting center and I don't know who starts at power forward between Olynyk and Sullinger.

Let's say 5-4-3-2-1 =  Olynyk, Sullinger, Green, Bradley and Rondo.

If Rondo plays well, then I say 31 wins on the DOT.  That's a firm prediction; mark it down and we can talk about it in June.  I just have a feeling.  Pick your over-under.

when was the last time ONE LOTTO PICK turned a team around?  it happens rarely.  we should not sacrifice player development and getting the most out of humphries and wallace's dead bodies' contracts for "tanking to get a top pick".  if there's so many great people in the '14 draft then it doesn't matter if we are #1, or #10

pitino worked so hard (via ML CARR) to tank us, it got us nothing.  doing it again will get us... nothing once again.  if that's the way it goes, then okay, but don't strive for it
