BRAD STEVENS > DOC.. at least for this Celtic team?

doc's greatest strengths were callingda right plays at the end of games and coming out of timeouts and getting guys to buy in! last nite was epic. miami hasnt lost with bron in the lineup at home in 25 games. yet with miami announcers talkin about danny green, jeffrey green nailed a buzzer beater right in da king's face and da king's house! has vets like bass, humphs and g-wall buying in as well as youngies like  pressey, sully, AB, and kelly

Commie, well said.  I was thinking that Brad Stevens is really working on bringing out the best in all his players and succeeding.

I think you're right but it's not really a surprise - we all knew Doc's strength was with veterans not young kids, and that Stevens would coach 'em up. Just like Stevens would have no credibility with KG or Pierce, they would eat him alive.

I am, however, pleased as you noted that Stevens seems strong in set plays and has the team playing very hard also.

never take for granted that anyone can coach. many were callin pitino a savior too. many coaches come, many coaches fail. i look at basics.. can u call playsunder pressure? is ur team chokin in big moments or lovelacing if u will (like w/stan van), r vets separating from youngies like w/da dolphins).. sorrry but brad would have kg and pp buyin in right about now 2. the guy is flexible with a high basketball iq. he's just like doc, except younger and more patient. one 30 footer like with craw tonite and dat would have been it for a week. with brad, he has da ball in his hands da next play with his head up as he makes da perfect PG play to AB for the sweet assist on a jumper. most of playin is mental and so is coaching!

then again, doc's perfect for the clips. doc's all about doc and rings right now. brad's about getting some doc cache and legitimacy so we can attract top guys later in a trade or as free agents. u dont think if heat lose in second round that bron will b sniffin da celts? we r truly just one true superstar away. ainge will make a major move later to get us back at da ray allen/kg stage again. green/rondo/kelly are good keepers. hump,AB,bass r good chips.

Docs all about riding the coattails of superstars and taking a bow for what they accomplish..

Nice win last night...not so thrilled about the last shot play cause it was a real tough look but at least he got one... better than Docs game ending plays the last few seasons of instructing PP to dribble down the clock and eventually get trapped when he starts his drive..... or Rondos dribble down to a desperation 3pt heave..

btw, the Doc led Clippers are 4-3

anything is > than doc for any team.  he just let's them play and sans a defensive coordinator that runs every aspect of the defense, his teams are stinko on D and all his pet players run their cycle and then become undercoached chum or just washed up and can't handle 35 clicks a game like what happened in BOS.

doc got EXCEEDINGLY LUCKY to have pierce, kg and allen come together.  had he done ANY tangible coaching with rondo, former PG to current PG we should have had 2 to 3 cups here for "the new big 3" era.

Should've had 3 in a row  2009 was lost when KG got injured and if it wasn't for a major meltdown in the 4th period of game 7 in 2010.
