    You mean 3 finals appearances dummy, '87, '08, '10

Making it to the 2nd rd of the playoffs 11 times in 26 years and winning 1 title and being tied for 7th best franchise (with the Mavs) over that period of time is really not too shabby considering they won 16 titles by 1986 and remain the league's greatest franchise.

The leagues premier franchise has been to 15 of the last 31 finals, far and away better than everyone, including the Celtics, who have been asleep, unable to be in the championship conversation continuously. In this era, this is an accomplishment you Celtics guys can't respect because the truth hurts. The Lakers are the flagship NBA franchise, and it isn't even close. Winning titles in this era is harder, than when the Celtics were the team.

The western conference was weak in the 80s, 70s, and 60s. Ugh! If AC Green is the starter for the western conference All-Stars, you know that conference is weak.  HAHAHA

They went 7 times in the 90's and 00's, and excuses like you propose are born from a losers mentality.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Celtic Dominance : Nice try manipulating the facts. Real facts here: Lakers only went to the Finals in the 90s once, in 1991. Magic Johnson lost to MJ in that Finals.  Lakers are the only NBA team to lose in the Finals in every decade since the 1950s. In 1987, the Lakers faced the 4th seeded Sonics, who had a losing record, 39-43, in the west finals. The Sonics' best player was Tom Chambers. HAHAHA

In case you didn't know, the Lakers are the most swept team in the history of the NBA. No other team has been swept more in the playoffs and Finals than the Lakers and that's a fact! HAHAHA

When you get there more than everyone else, those things tend to happen. On the other hand, when your team goes to sleep and misses the boat for two decades, you tend to avoid those things.

Speaking of swept, the Lakers swept the Celtics last year with the worst point guard play, and worst bench, how did that feel?

It was either a second helping of DH sweeping, or start a discussion on Kobe Bryant's right knee:

“Because I have very little cartilage under my right knee cap, it’s almost bone on bone.”
Bryant has undergone three operations on that same knee, one this past offseason, after having it drained several times during last year’s playoffs.

That was the season series, two shots at your most hated rival, and swept.
