[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Celtics all-time 1st Team Disappointments : 'Nique in '95 17.8 ppg 5.2 rpg 2.2 apg 42% FG and 39% 3FG at age 35 Not much diff from Ray age 32-34, only obv not on 3's 'Nique had Dino, Fox and Sherm   Ray had KG, Pierce and Rondo Of course he averaged 29.1 per in the last 25 games of the season before coming to Boston.

yabbut, it took like 30 games for nique to throw his first dunk down in a green uniform.  the decline was shocking.  his 17.8 was a weak 17.8.  he did get it together for a couple of playoff games but it was too late.  nique was washed up WAAAAY more than we thought when we signed him- we were probably thinking strong 20+ ppg and we got weak, almost non-dunking 17.8.  ray is imminently more effective as third gun as nique was as FIRST GUN.

    You are correct

Why was that regime signing 'Nique, Pervis and Barros anyhow when top 5 picks could have landed KG, Stackhouse, Sheed, McDyess or  Ray, Camby and Iverson.

Of course we could have stayed put '94-'96 and had a backcourt of Eddie Jones, Finley and Nash...

Even Kobne over 'Toine in '96... but that is heresy to think of right? the ego-maniac rapist in Green?

rameakap, man u take me back.

I didnt understand a lot of moves made in the 90s and early 00s.

I will say this, the Celtics really need to draft well and have some stars come from within like Bird, Pierce and Rondo.  it is nice to trade for veterans, but most of the time they are on thier downside when we get them.
