    Danny- trade KG now!!

KG is past it. Last season he went missing in action regularly and in the two games so far, he's been non-existant. Time to go KG, don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

    Trade him now Danny!

first of all, you dont trade the heart and soul of the team. remember wen we got rid of a critical piece of the puzzle last year? yea..it would be that times 3 with KG..he is the anchor and voice of the defense, and the vocal leader of the entire team. trade him and all loyalty goes out the door..come on think a little bit.

p.s "dont let the door hit ya on the way out?" thats how you feel about the guy who came to Boston and changed the culture and got us a ring? disrespectful.

The fact is for what KG's getting paid, he should hang his head in disgust. If people want to pay him 2011-2012 money based on 2008 results, the bigger fools they are!

Of course the converse here is also true.  In 4 years Pau Gasol has taken the lakers to 3 Finals, and won 2 rings.  In every other city in the NBA, he's a hero.  NOW, because of last years embarrasing and humiliating performance, lakers fans want to sell him down the river.  If people pay him 19 mill a year for stuff he did in 2008-2010, the bigger fools they are!!

It is clear KG is no longer a top player, but it is also clear that we are years away from having a group that might go on a run and win it all.  KG and Ray could resigh for small money and we could have a very good second unit next year. Get Paul back see what we can come up with. Take a look at Pietrus and hope Dooling continues to contribute like he has lately.  Work Brandon Bass into the lineup 40 minutes and run some stuff for Paul and Ray that might end up in his hands as a third option, he would do great. Play KG a lot at Center. Give this team 15 games to establish if they can make the playoffs.  IF we make the playoffs with this group ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

KG needs to step it up, but he is the heart and soul of this Celtics team.  Paul Pierce may really open it up for KG to operate more effectively. Remember defenses are all over KG right now.

Do Not Trade KG!!! Why would you want to help another team clear 22M from their cap space at the end of this season.

Howard going to the team that can pay him first. Second it has to be a team that can win.

22M a year would open up that cap space to get Howard.

And why would you try to sign a player who clearly does not want to play for Celtics??  22 mil could be spent on players who may actually want to play for Boston as well as provide a cornerstone for the franchise. DH is clearly not the only franchise player and besides, we have the most HOFers (red-russ) and surely that's a reason along with 22mil that may entice someone else.

    Ugh.

That was Fierce who said that - and you misquoted him.

DH will be the cornerstone of a franchise - when the Nets move to Brooklyn, he will be bigger than he is now.

Although - ATL reportedly just offered Josh Smith AND Joe Johnson for Howard.

So, LAL - consider the ante just "upped."

DH has clearly stated that he still wants to be traded:

    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7358084/orlando-magic-dwight-howard-says-trade-request-stands

As of this time, no other team is in the reckoning. The Hawks or whoever can offer what they want but what team will sign DH for a season with their best assets only to see him leave at the end of this season. Answer- none!

    Ugh.

    Re: Danny- trade KG now!!

I am a big fan of KG and always liked how passionate he is. He has not lived up to the expectations for the past two years and I was hoping that he would bounce back but in the game against the Heat it was clear; HE IS DONE BEING THE DOMINANT FORCE. From here on out I would not play him more than 30 mins. He is just AFRAID to get to the hoop, it is just pathetic to see him this way. I think losing Perk had the most negative effect on KG.

Going forward I dont even put him with Chandler, $5/2-3year contract is fair for him. They dont have to trade him now cos they are not going to get anything decent in return. He makes the highest money on this roster and probably the least effective among the starting five, so far. Let Ray and KG play out this year and offer no more than $5/y contracts to both of them. If they dont want to take it well I say show them the door. Then go after DH and DW.

    Re: Danny- trade KG now!!

Desperate for attention, Tayshawn pulls an article dated 12/17 out of his rear end.  Tell us something we don't know.  All we know is there are four teams DH said he would sign an extension with:
    ORL
    DAL
    NJN
    LAL

Jim Buss has said to offer Bynum and Gasol would be "foolish".  Jim Buss also said ORL never asked for both.  NJN just traded Favors, so they would have to get another team involved.  But they have DWill!!  koME and DH does not get you over the top - you should really read the LA Times, son!!  Even lakers fans don't want to part with both 7 footers for DH.  Watch out for DAL, they are a sleeper here.

AND - one last thing  - he doesn't really have a choice where he goes.  If ATL wants to rent him for a year, that is their business.  And the team that has him at year's end can offer him the most money!!  I'd do it!  Once he becomes a UFA, however, he cannot go to the lakers.  You do understand that, don't you?

Maybe they will.  Do you know anything different.  Perhaps he would add ATL to his list.  All we know right now is that there are 4 teams he'd sign with.  Perhaps ATL is third team to get involved with NJN.  Maybe ATL thinks they can re-sign him.  Maybe ATL wants to shed salary, but wants to be exciting this year.  I dont' know and neither do you.  My point is - he doesn't really have a choice this year about where he plays!

I Doc and Danny had it right in their thinking of moving KG more and more to the FIVE and look for our four of the future.

It is time to transition the brunt of the four position to Brandon Bass (which is what Baby I think was saying) and let KG bring what he brings.

If you look at the signing of Green at $9.0MM, the attempt to bring in David West at $9.0MM and to trade both Baby and Von Wafer for Bass signaled to me that the Celtics were moving in another direction.

I even think the thinking is now, when we play the Orlando's or the Lakers, JON will see more time, but essentially,  KG is our center and Bass our power forward.

SC, that's why the Lakers clock-blocked our trade to NO for West. JON was to be traded to Dallas (desperate for expiring center contract) and West would have assumed KG's role as soon as practical.

When Odom griped about being traded to NO the Lakers traded him to Dallas for nothing more than a trade exception not to appease Odom but to stop the C's from evolving from old to younger with another player on the roster to appeal to DH that the C's were well ahead of the Lakers and NJ.
