have you looked at the list for next year?
all that "cap space" for a bunch of medicroe FA's in waiting.
so you end up with a roster of:
C- Fav, Haywood, Cauley-Stein
PF- Sully, Olynyk, Saric
SF- Green, Crowder
SG- Crawford, Brooks
PG- Exum, Larkin
a couple NON difference maker free agents to fill up the roster with.
I'd pass on that one, 2014 isn't a good year for free agents,IMO.
you don't have to spend all of the money in one offseason and i wouldn't expect Boston to be contending in one season. it would create a very clean slate for DA to rebuild around. he's had some good young talent, plenty of cap space, and plenty of draft picks. it's not just FA's that the $ is needed for, but also to retain our own guys down the road like Sully for example.
