Please Elven,  don't embarass us Laker fans.  There is no doubt the Celtics had the better team as they dominated from the pre season all the way to the playoffs.  They struggled a little with Atlanta,  had a nail biter against the Cavs, (super game 7), then ran roughshod over Detroit, and frankly made my mighty Lakers look like a JV team.  The game 6 massacre still floats around in my head.
We are just lucky that we got all the calls in a game 7 against the Celtics year before last. Please show a little respect on the Celtic site.

Ariza played, and if Bynum didn't get injured, you wouldn't have Gasol!
    Thanks for playing!!

You have yet to show any evidence that if Bynum hadn't got injured, the Lakers wouldn't have got Gasol. Your cheap stunt just got flushed in the toilet.

    Your own cited article:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3226203

"Gasol, averaging 18.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.44 blocked shots in 39 games this season, can fill in at center until Bynum returns in mid-March, then move to power forward."

Rose is awesome and I wish him well but now its time for him to go home and swim in his $200.000.000 + adidas money pool and hopefully heal 100% for next year.

For the Cs it makes no difference, since they won't even get beyond the Hawks.

Though general manager Mitch Kupchak said the trade was precipitated by an injury in early 2008 to center Andrew Bynum,

like we'll have to do to LA and Orlando in '09 when KG was completely out and '10 when KG, Perk and Ray were injured...

But we know LA wouldn't have won EVEN WITH Bynum in '08, and that had Bynum not gotten hurt they wouldn't have traded for Gasol anyhow so its a moot point.

(Ariza was active BTW, played in 5 of 6 games, and couldn't beat out Walton/Radmonovic for time in the rotation since he hadn't played in Phil's system long enough... but I'm sure you knew that... yawn)

I guess we put an asterisk next to the '85 and '87 titles too b/c Max and McHale/Walton were shells of themselves playing at less than 50%...

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Had Bynum not hurt they wouldn't have traded for Gasol? Where do you based this hypothesis on?

Don't forget, "Bynum was hurt = /> trade for Gasol" is not equivalent to "Bynum not hurt => wouldn't have traded for Gasol", unless there is some new Celtic logic floating around...
