rondo has not been GIVEN or FULFILLED one single milestone in his career.

then why does he hold several Celtics franchise records? Or it doesn't count as a milestone?

stuffing a stat box to cover up your incompetence / lack of desire to become a complete player in all areas of the game is not a milestone.  it's called lysol spray.

what i mean is that nobody ever told rondo in year 1 or 2- "you have to nail the free throws 73% (still rock bottom low) or higher to start on this team" and/or "you have to step into and hit a reasonable amount (benchmark used to be 6/10) of wide open 13-17 foot jumpers before we are going to start you on this team"

he fulfilled ZERO of the old guard and arguably STILL IN EFFECT requirements to be a starting PG in the league- it was handed to him.  and this year, rondo's 20 assist games have not all been good games.  that many assists coupled with no driving the ball and in at least one of the games almost no offense at all from him means that you are usurping the ball for way to much shotclock time to cover up for the fact that you don't want to dribble drive and risk drawing a foul or be the one to TAKE that shot that he's been left open for most nights for 6 1/2 seasons now.

in case you didn't notice, he has NOT MASTERED the simple jump shots or he would average 18 a night.  on this old, stale offensive schemed team, we actually DO NEED THAT right now from him, in addition to proper pacing and good old fashioned bend-your-knees defense and use your God given quickness to be a pest to the other team's PG.....

we aren't getting that.  he didn't have to pass any of those tests.  and hence he shoots 60 something % from the line 7 years into the project.

    Very good summation of Rondo.

    In response to BirdLewsBias' comment:

I've seen enough, Doc's motivating words are falling on deaf ears and he cannot get this team to play to it's potential anymore.

The other issue is Rondo has taken over the team and Doc/Danny turned the team over to him too soon. He's not ready to be a leader. Sure he's the PG and he's an All Star but he has too many mood swings and it shows in the way he plays and the team plays.

I'm ready for a change...I doubt it will be either one of them but it's time to put people on the table. The only untouchable players in my mind are KG and AB. Everyone else should be on the table for deals to get this team younger, hungrier and more consistent.

That says a lot about KG and PP to let Rondo dictate their attitude, hustle and play.  If anyone is playing bad it is because of their own abilities or lack there of.
