    Celtsfan, of course you're right.

However, on the flip side, we're the #2 scoring defense and field goals against defense.  From their 34 shots, they're making too many of them because we're not defending.

We've always relied on our defense and, right now, that is getting exposed.  I doubt we are going to turn it on offensively the way they are flowing right now so I have to bank on the defense making things just a little tougher for them.

We can score a little better right now but our defense is still playing horribly.

Maybe too much rest isn't the best cure for this group, KG looks very rusty.
Last season we swept the Knicks and had a considerable amount of days to rest and we needed a couple games to set in.
    Aging players need rhythm.

Bass needs to step up and show the world he can deliver in the postseason.
Pietrus has been ofly quiet too.

I agree that the rest might not have been the answer.  Also the way it looks it might have been nice to have gotten the home court advantage. I don't believe rest is needed for players 32-35 years old. Momentum is important and playing even tired gets the adrenaline going. Only benefit to keeping player out is to keep them from getting hurt. Our team is flat, especially KG !!! The rest hasn't seemed to allow us to keep up with a much youn ger team.

But what is killing us too is the main reason we lose most games...25 rebs to 17...that's 8 more 2nd chances for the Hawks & they are taking advantage of them.

Looks like our vets, except Pierce, have forgotten how the NBA playoffs work with the officials. Whoever comes out the aggressor, fouling or not, is given the edge by the refs. Hawks just took advantage of that and then you can't stop them. Happens every year, every series. Percentages, rebounds, and turnovers are secondary. Case in point Heat/Knicks first game. Doc knows this but doesn't have the players to offset it. Hopefully second half smoothes out

Can't get an assist if you pass to people and they miss the shots!   Even Bradley missed two layups when he cut back door and Rondo got him the ball.

Goes to show how much of Rondo's success is dependent on good Celtic shooting.  We gotta get back to hitting some shots in the 2nd half.

Thanks for those stats.  You're right to highlight that KG, Bass, and even Bradley are giving us very little.   Garnett is a proven entity.  I believe he will step up.  I hope Bradley and Bass do, as well.  Bass looks like a deer in the headlights, though.  At least Bradley is moving and trying.

Ugly first half unless you are Hawks fan. The Celts better get their game faces on, or they will find themselves down 0-1 in this series. They look like they have not played in a week. Oh, wait, they haven't. Come on Celtics!!

    Delay of Game?

    HCA advantage Hawks!

Tommy's right ... that was a late whistle. Ref wouldn't give us an "and 1" and only blew the whistle once we (KG) missed the shot ... Coward or HCA?

Rondo's defensive is particularly bad today. This is not looking good now that they have withstood our run. I thought we would be coming back by now.
