Re: Game Thread: Celtics vs Knicks, Game Six

What a game! We all (with the exception of a few morons) felt that the Celtics were not going to go down easily and they did not disappoint. The reason Boston lost this series is really very easy: lack of depth (injuries), and the team that was left did not gel until game 4 of this series. I hope that Danny Ainge does not panic and try to get rid of Pierce and KG. That would be foolish. This game tonight proved that Boston is still among the elite. Who would be foolish enough to believe that NY would have beaten Boston with a healthy Rondo, Sullinger, and Barbosa(I am aware that he is gone but he would not have been traded away if he had not gotten injured)? It wouldn't have happened. The San Antonio Spurs continue to be competitive even with Tim Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker being shadows of their former great selves by bringing in players that contribute and having balance. If Danny Ainge could only remember the awesome team that he put together in the 2010-2011 season that he dismembered at the trading deadline I would have all of the confidence in the world in another Celtics title. Boston needs size up front ( No more fr**gin tweeners!) and guys that can shoot from the perimeter.

Pierce was putrid today like something fierce.  Therefore, he takes the majority of the blame.

    Pierce was injured.

Off course, he injured his arm firing all those bricks.

Before this game I thought for sure that KG would retire but I belive that the inspired play of Green and Bradley in the 4th quarter may convince him to return.

Pierce played a pretty bad game.  I understand.  But I find surprising that people here just do not appreciate how he morphed his game all season to reduce Rondo's loss.  Paul Pierce is a great basketball player, the kind that seldom come along.  So is KG and we have had the pleasure of enjoying them play for our team.

Paul Pierce is a great because basketball player because of his versatility.  He is like glue.  Morphs his game to fit into the situation.  Kobe and LeBron can only play from the front.  Just look at the Lakers disaster this year.  Paul is special.  Just give him the respect that he deserves.

Over and out. It's been fun harrassing you all. But it's time to move on. I want to especially say so long to my b**ches, Duke and the Buffer.

Seriously, you were harrassing us? What the hell  would  a Laker fan have to say?

KG and Pierce are special. Perhaps knowing that the Celtics had NY on the ropes after being down by 26 fr*gg*n points will get them to return. How can they not still feel that fire after a comeback like that?

Re: Game Thread: Celtics vs Knicks, Game Six

Kevin Garnett is the Boston Celtics: Fire, Passion, Tough, Gritty, an undying will to win. Danny Ainge threw him under the bus by not getting him any help. Strange to say this way before next season but the last thing Danny Ainge needs to do is panic. He needs to consider Boston's many injuries and it's glaring weaknesses like not having a backup point guard or a true center and how close Boston was at getting past the Knicks (the 2nd best team in the EC). If I could get a message to Danny Ainge it would be this: Keep this team together (with a few exceptions like Courtney Lee, Jason Terry, Wilcox, and Jordan Crawford), get a backup point guard, some guys that can provide instant offense off the bench, and stop fooling around get some bigs. Get back to what brought Boston so much success. Stop bringing guys on board that are weak and tentative (like Lee and Green) and bring in guys that bring some toughness (defenders like Tony Allen, Kendrick Perkins, and James Posey).

KG and Pierce for another 82-game season?

KG had to sit out a lot of games in March just to get some rest.

That was the difference from being the 3rd seed to becoming the 7th seed.

I believe that KG and Pierce should come back.  What Danny needs to do is combine his draft picks and any/many of his 2s+Bass and try to land a quality 2 and a backup 5.  Then there is Fab Melo.  It will be interesting to see what strides he made this year.

    Ignorant statement, tex.

How could Ainge get KG any help when the Celts were over the salary cap since KG and Ray came to Boston?

The Celts only had the MLE to offer. No quality big man was available for the MLE.

Kris Humphries is being paid 12m per year.

DeAndre Jordan got 10m per year.

How can the Celts afford a big man like that?

    Pierce getting 15-16m.

    Rondo 11m.

    Ray 10m.

    KG got 21m last season!

There is this thing called Salary Cap Rules!

You are right I mean you can't get guys like Kenyon Martin and Chris Anderson for pennies on the dollar....oh wait, you can!!

The reason why the Celts stayed away from K-Mart is attitude. It was after Game 4 where K-Mart said the Knicks will wear all black for the funeral of the Celtics at MSG.

And the Clips had K-Mart last season but decided to replace him with a fat Odom!

Chris Andersen was under investigation for child porn when the Nuggets let him go. The Boston Celtics is an organization that stays away from players like that.

    Get it?

Yeah, there's a bunch of people that shunned these guys and NY and Miami made them all look like idiots.

    What draft picks?

The Celts only have 1 draft pick this season.

Who would trade a quality player for the likes of Bass, Lee, and Terry?

It's not like Bass, Lee, and Terry have expiring contracts. So why would any team take back mediocre players, with multi-year contracts, for quality players?

The Celts have some players and the 16th pick to work with.  Yes, they have some mediocre players.  But they also have AB and Sullinger to include in the right deal.
