Kendrick Perkins: Worst basketball Player Ever....

Kendrick Perkins finished the 2013 NBA Playoffs with a PER of -0.7, which is the worst on record for a player with 200 or more minutes.

Perkins had 24 turnovers, 24 points, 39 fouls, five blocks and a plus/minus of -40 in the playoffs.

Perkins was acquired by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2011 in a trade involving Jeff Green.

But, but, but, that was the worst trade danny ever made! Worst trade ever! We love Perk! He's got grit! - sarcasm

Seriously, what a great trade. I've always been a proponent of Danny's move. He did it with 2 O'Neals on our team so Perk was expendable. We gave up Nate, also expendable. We got Jeff Green who could be all-star caliber player, Kystic who was decent - but left the NBA (not Dannys fault), and we got Fab Melo/Jared Sullinger (could say either because the picks were back to back, who knows if Danny would have chosed Fab over Sully without that second pick).

Not a bad deal at all!

It would have been the greatest trade ever if we got Harden like we were supposed to instead of Green.

Now it is just a great trade in 2013. Perk would have given us a better chance to beat the Heat in 2011 than Green, horrible in his 2 months here after the deadline and in 2012 when Green was out in heart surgery.

So since we don't know if Perk would have meant anyother title those years, it remains a debatable trade despite how much better Green is now, considerding the C's are further froma  title with Green than they were when they traded Perk.

I'd give Perk a chunk of the MLE or the bi-annual, 3-4 million, in a heartbeat. Just to play 10-15 mins, intimidiate, give hard fouls, protect KG, hope to get his confidence back and still block shots and grab boards at a higher rate than Bass.

Re: Kendrick Perkins: Worst basketball Player Ever....

The worst part of watching Perk was during game 5 when Nick Collison was desperately trying to tell Perk something as they wer walking off the floor, Perkins didn't even look at him and walked away like Collison wasn't even there. It was one of the most disrespectful things I've seen in a long time. I've noticed his body language toward Scott Brooks is also extremely disrespectful,,,

Bad teammate , big scowl , bad bady language, bad attitude with the referees, crappy free throw shooter, hands of stone, openly disrespecting his teammate in front of 18,000 paying customers.

Ironic that Perk was brought in because OKC thought he was an upgrade over Nick Collison , but last night it was Nick Collison who was out there in crunch time, making big baskets and getting rebounds, playing with fire and passion,,,,,

I can't wait to hear what Perk's OKC teammates really think of him in the coming days and weeks.....I predict the dirty laundry will get aired out soon and Perk will get his amnesty walking papers,

Perk will be playing next season for Scalabrine money or less and it won't be in OKC , bet every Thunder fan in OKC also regrets trading Jeff Green and Kristic for the FRAUD known as Perk...

The Celtics are sooooo lucky to have gotten a player of Jeff Green's caliber and character for that bum, anyone still complaining about Jeff Green's contract ? What a steal !

The guy was a woefully skilled, uncoordinated NBA player.  Watch him and you can't miss him.  Ainge should have been more committed to finding a replacement though .  Perk was always just a body to stuck in the middle.

ok perkys, who wants to take shots at me now for wanting that big jabro outta here when danny did? about upside. thought he could hild the fort with nenad while taking care of the future with green. turns out the gamble was right with green. anyone wants to argue that jg is a total steal over the next 3 years at 9m? his health still isnt 100% yet from the surgery. next year is the coronation of greeen. harden would have been better but glad to see that okc had some faculties to say no to DA. the man loves to fleece jabros GMs. mchale got one over as well with hard for the other k-mart 9the real discount as a playa). perky is just a JAG with an elite scowl. i would bring him back as athird center until melo shows he can play. beating perk shouldnt b a great obstacle in a year or 2. thats it, give perk a vet minimum 2 year deal (back up in the steamer sense).. now u have BOTH green and perk. next year u have perk,kg and pp coming off your bench, not a bad deal. still need an al type to start at the 5 and play 30-35m!

That's because he was part of a system... are you mad? The Lakers were equal in talent to us, so any tip in the scale has profound effects... Perk along with KG anchored our defense ... its difficult to adjust on the fly like that

    AND

He obviously was a better player back in 2010 ... otherwise OKC wouldn't have traded Jeff Green for him.

We would have beaten the lakers.  See perk was much better BEFORE his injury. UNderstand? Pre injury Perk good. Post injury Perk not looking so good. Not with the thunder anyway.

I would not pick him up in a fire sale. Yup, I know KG likes him and most Boston fans do too.  And I do think we would have beaten the  Lakers had he not gone down in Game 6. Why did we unload him ? He was not a double digit scoring Center, or a great rebounder and was a poor foul shooter. He was the "Jim Loscutoff" muscle man type in the post to contain Bynum & Gasol. He also did a good job against Howard when he was with Orlando. Keep in mind we had Sheed and a younger KG to score in the paint. OKC had Durant, Ibaka & Harden to score in the paint so didn't need Perk for that.

I'm glad we got Green for him but so sorry we lost Nate Robinson who would have really helped the PG position and helped our scoring droughts too.

We need do what GS Warriors did in the draft...their starting 5 averages 23 years old...go young !!!

surely you watched OKC vs. the heat last year- they could not do anything with perk on the floor.  if you are going to hassle the Heat with the 5 position it has to be someone big enough AND SKILLED ENOUGH to completely erase bosh's abilities on both ends.  like marc gasol

when OKC played MIA, and perkins was on the floor, OKC bled red numbers- so how does that get any different if Perk was on the floor for us?  i mean the guy just can't even get rebounds any more.  that's pretty much when you put a fork in it and maybe play a year or two in Iran to pad the IRA

Kendrick looks like toast...it's too bad because for a couple of years after they traded him he might have actually helped them win at least 1 other championship...too bad for everyone involved...'cause I doubt Green can be counted on to consistently play in a leadership/aggressive manner

give green a point guard without the name of rondo and see what you get.  as it was, rondo went down, green EMERGED and we did not even have a point guard to run the ball- that is where green is going to make his mark- the only way he can- as a streaking player in transition.

rondo was too lazy and dysfunctional to do that, so even though danny got fast pieces like lee, green, barbosa, terry, the c's never ran anywhere near enough.  and green's TOUCHES were stupidly inconsistent and low because in the SUPER LOW TEMPO game that rondo floor general'd us into, less posesssions means you have to have MORE TOUCHES as a %age of total touches go to PP/KK and green got starved out.

enter doc rivers to work his magic of further subjugating green by yanking his minutes up and down like a hoar's drawers in the former combat zone.

green will be just fine, but we need a REAL point guard.  a mike conley type- just a ham and egger point guard who has an all around game.  no ball hogs and now 59% FT shooters

Guess you didn't watch the games 2-3 years ago Acie... Perk was pulling down 7 points, 8 boards and a block when he returned from injury in '11. He hadn't lost as much weight as he did recently and was effective in the C's system and an intimidator the Heat feared.

Hr had 15 pts and 8 reb's in an 85-82 win vs. Miami a week before he was traded. The Celtics were a whole different team with him, one who honestly believed they hadn't been at full strength w/ that 5 since the '08 title.

Danny would have needed to turn Nate Robinson, Marquis Daniels and the Jujuan Johnson pick into a SF who could have helped PP guard LeBron. But the C's would have had a MUCH better shot in '11 with Perk over Green and again in '12 when Green was out, the series went 7 and he was putting up 4.6p-6.2r and 1.3b as the C's used Hollins and Steamer.

perkins looked okay coming back from the surgery, but not at his best.  but he has yet to pull of a complete season of convincing play.  for his best season for the c's, perk looked like a nice player for most of a 1/2 season.  he was averaging 12.8 points and 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.  then the cheese slid off the cracker and he wound up under 10 points and the rebounds went down, as did the blocks.

you can take a regular season box score and be awestruck over it but it's all quite different in the playoffs and that's when perkins has KILLED the thunder for two years now.  period.  end of story.

the only reason perkins was effective i the celts' system was KG.  KG draws a lot of attention and perkins opened up for some shots even perk couldn't bumble and miss.  with no KG, perk goes down as just another 6-10 stiff who should have gone to college.  as it stands right now, perk is washed up and is maybe 9th man on a contending team for some bodying and fouls.  that's it.

People  say Perk might have won us the title in 2010 had he not been injured and missed game 7..

but in 6 games, heres Perks finals game averages rounded off:

    6 pts

    6 rebs

    1 assist

    0 steals

    0 blocked shots

    1 TO

    3 PFs

Im a believer that stats alone almost never tell the entire story but, just saying.....
