Kudos to Fiercest for calling a sweep!  I am thrilled to see this team get a week's rest and assume Doc will do whatever he has to do to keep them sharp.

    True

You cannot expect Rondo to have 20 dimes and Ray/Paul to go 14-19 from 3 every game.

But you def need ONE of Ray and Paul to hit 3-4 3's EVERY playoff game and when one is cold from outside he has to drive to rim and get to the line

and KG has to be there with some vintage 9-13, 22-25 point vintage KG game to pick up the offense.

KG also has to never have an off-night on D or the boards this entire postseason, 10-13 boards each game, no excuses

The luxury of having a team talented enough to have 4 players, where one of them  can carry you on a given night. Winning 4 in a row against another NBA team is real difficult. Props to KG.

    Ram,

I agree. I really don't think he cares anymore who scores the points. However, if needed, he will produce. His focus, as always, is on winning, team play, and defense.

    Thank God for KG.

It is even harder to beat the same team 5 games in a row which is what they just did.

    100% correct

Pierce and Ray are our scoring studs for sure.

When they are both on, like 6+ 3's combined, it is easy for Rondo to get 13-17 dimes and nobody cares or notices if he goes 1-4 on mid-range J's and 2-5 at the line b/c it is very likely we won and he got close to a trip-dub.

But when Ray and Paul are both off, and I mean those 12-15 point games... we almost always will lose against top 5 talent, simple as that, no matter what this weak series vs. NYK showed. Real teams will beat us. So blame them if they both go 3-11, 1-5 from 3. HOFers can't do that.

But if just ONE of them are off, and the other is giving us a solid 18-23, we CAN still win vs. a tough team.

But we need KG and Rondo to step up!!!!!

Re: Kudos to KG for Stepping Up

Rondo is not going to have 13+ assists if Ray/Paul don't combine to make 5+ 3 point shots, stats prove this. So on games that a barrage from downtown is not in the cards we need a 40% on his jumpers (like 3-7) and 70% (7-9) at the line Rondo being aggressive and scoring 20 and a 65% from the field (like 9-15) KG who gets to line at least twice.

THAT is how we overcome one of Pierce/Ray being a low-teens scorer who missed his 3's. We will almost always beat ANYONE w/ a great game from all 4 stars and we can still beat Miami/Chicago/LA/OKC w/ great games from 3 of the 4. But get 2 bad games from our 4 all-stars and we likely lose.

NOT letting Baby shoot w/ 4 secs left on the clock or watching Rondo throw up bricks is a good start.

Gotta go to the hoop and make what is open when you shoot outside, or go home
