Why you want to trade Rondo for Gasol?  Lakers are in the western conference while the Celtics are in the eastern conference.  Lakers may not even go past the first or second round.  Eastern conference do not have alot of talent center except Orlando.  But Celtics beat them twice in the last two times they faced them. Celtics went 9-1 in their last ten games before losing to the Lakers. Really the team are fine for now.  Rondo is one of the better defender PG in the league.   If the Celtics know that they will face the Lakers in the final, then I would make this trade to work!!! But I know the Lakers arent going to go far this year!!

The Celtics get out rebounded almost every game, not just against the Lakers.

Re: Lakers Grabbed 55 Rebounds

Here is the stats in the last ten games except the last nite game

Celtics outrebounded Bobcat by 5
Celtics outrebounded Memphis by 7
Celtics outrebounded Knicks by 3
Celtics outrebounded Raptors by 7
Cavs outrebounded Celtics by 11, still Celtics won that game
Cavs outrebounded Celtics by 4, Celtics's alone lost out of last 10 games before the last nite game.
Celtics outrebounded Pacers by 3
Orlando outrebounded Celtics by 9, but Howard had 16.  But he tended to get into foul trouble all the times.  Howard is one of the better defense rebounder in the league.  Still he doesnt score like Gasol or Bynum.
Celtics outrebounded Orlando by 4 in the 30 points blowout.
Wash outrebounded Celtics by 2.

For your information, Celtics was not outrebounded every game.  You re totally wrong.

Celtics was out rebounded four times including last nite in the last 11 games, and the Celtics only lost two games during that periond.  Therefore, the rebounding is not the problem.  It is the defense, and who are the guys that should take over the 4th quarter!!!!!!!!
We all know what happened the last time the Lakers got 50 or more rebounds against the Celts. This loss was a preview of things to come when we play the Heat or the Bulls in the playoffs. The Celts are still one big man away from being a contender. On the bright side, this loss will really force Ainge to trade Rondo. We just can't play like this, like tonight, in the playoffs.

I agree with you about the rebounding.  I still believe that trading Rondo is a bad idea.  Not sure what Danny will do though.  We can't forget last year's trade of Perk, so I suppose that anything is possible.
In Response to Re: Lakers Grabbed 55 Rebounds : You didn't know the Celts are the 2nd worst rebounding team in the NBA?  The Celts are just averaging 39 rpg while their opponents average 41 rpg against them. That means every game the Celts get outrebounded by 2 rebounds.
Posted by Fiercest34
But Boston ranked seventh best team for allowing the least rebounds.

Look at all possible playoff teams, Dallas is the 23rd worst team giving up the most rebounds, Philadelphia is 27th, etc.

Funny part is that Indiana's rebounding average is 44.1, but the opponent average is 43.00.

I do agree that the Celtics need a better center!!  But I disagree that Rondo should be traded.  He is the key player on the team.  If you watch Moore coming off of the bench last nite to play as a PG, he had no clue on how to run the offense.  He seem that he is just running around with the ball.  I think he is an athletic player, but seem he doesnt understand how to play half court offense.  That was why DOC isnt going to play a back PG if he doesnt understand half court offense plays!!!
In Response to Re: Lakers Grabbed 55 Rebounds : Moore is a rookie! He's not the answer at PG. Dooling is supposed to be Rondo's backup this year. Are you in denial? Last night was not the first time Rondo was ineffective in the 4th qtr. Besides not contributing anything, did you see how the Lakers defended Rondo? The paint was congested because Kobe was roaming, not guarding Rondo. In the 4th qtr. it's 4 vs. 5 when Rondo is in there.  Come on, open your eyes, millions saw how Rondo bricked that 15-foot jumper in overtime. Rondo is Mr. Brick Shot, when it's winning time he disappears.
Posted by Fiercest34
Why you blame Rondo for missing a shot in the OT?  If you look at play by play in the OT, Rondo went 0-1, Pierce went 2 for 3, Allen went 0 for 3 including the last shot was blocked, Garnett went 0-1.  Everyone missed their shots except Pierce.  So therefore, there are four guys to be blamed, not just Rondo.  Maybe DOC should tell Pierce to take over the game.

And for Moore, he have done nothing.  Zero point, one rebound, no steal, one assist, etc.

So who should be playing PG if there are so many people wanting to trade Rondo for a center like Gasol?

The Lakers defend Rondo the same time in the 4th quarter everytime. Kobe sags off Rondo and dares him to shoot. The lane gets congested with Kobe roaming and inevitably Boston ends up taking horrible shots.

2010 all over again.
