In Response to Re: Lakers Trying to Trade for Paul Pierce : Again, stop manipulating the facts. The Pierce for Gasol rumor is not even 24 hours old. How could I be hawking for it for a month? And I never said Pierce for Gasol. The report said the Lakers want Pierce, naturally the obvious player the Lakers would trade for Pierce is Gasol, duh!

I agree - you wanted Rondo for Gasol!

Thnx for refreshing my memory Red ... does it matter, Pierce or Rondo for Gasol?

I'll take either bet if Carnac34 has the ballz ... maybe you can lend him yours (?)
The Lakers are not trading Kobe or Bynum, so the only left besides the trade exception is Pau Gasol, who I personally think is very underrated by Boston fans. http://www.celticslife.com/2012/01/lakers-trying-to-trade-for-paul-pierce.html Paul Pierce for Pau Gasol? Yes!

I would do that deal too.

Nah - it's all just fun.............neither trade is happening.  I am intrigued by the IND trade, though!!

Gasol would put you out of the S&T business till his contract expired or prevent you from doing a max deal for a centerpiece ... not very good foresight.

Thats even more imbecilic .... You'd trade Rondo for Gasol and then amnesty him the next year ... You never cease to amaze when it comes to low IQ posts.

As a Laker fan, I'm not sure I could stomach PP in the purple and gold. A PG is what we need anyway, not another player demanding the ball.

I don't know if F34 was joking but you can't amnesty a player that you traded for after the CBA was signed.
In Response to Re: Lakers Trying to Trade for Paul Pierce : I'm just saying if it doesn't work out the Celts can always amnesty Gasol.  If Pierce gets traded for Gasol then the Celts will only have Rondo and Gasol as players with big contracts. Even with Gasol and Rondo we can still afford another max player.
    Posted by Fiercest34
"I'm just saying" .... you mean changing the facts ... like manipulating the truth or lying!

Once you're over the tax line a team can no longer do S&T's ... so with Gasol and another 1-2 major contracts our hands would be tied until Gasol expired or the ownership took a financial hit. You can't be taking on bad contracts too often or you won't be a viable contender too long.

    Boston could not amnesty Gasol.

We will if we add two big time free agents unless you're saving that cap another year ... haha

So when you present a trade it's "just my opinion" but if I, Red or anyone else does then thats a prediction or guarantee that that player will dress in Celtic Green? Come on ... that's really immature.

Paul Pierce should only be traded if he approves the trade.  Go Celtics

Actually it takes effect the start of the 2013 season (Gasol's last year) ...

/> Starting in 2013-14, teams more than $4 million above the tax level cannot receive a player in a sign-and-trade transaction <
