Is Tony Douglas any good?

To me, it seems like GSW made out like bandits

Of course there is. DA is thinking... he could be a starting center on our roster. Get minutes, show some production and maybe get a 5M per deal. Burried in Miami he'd likely opt in.
Starting Center?

    Really?

    HAHAHA
On our tanking team? Why not.

Don't confuse what I'm saying, he's not a future starting center for the Celtics..

    True!

But by removing JC, Boston's 3rd leading scorer, Tankapalooza is in full swing!

Celts will end up the bandits if they get Embiid or Jabari in the 2014 Draft because they tanked.

    HAHAHA

    Fierce don't be a fool.

Anthony is not a good player, but he's the closest thing to a Center and apparently Brad doesn't like Favarani. Once Hump is traded for a 1st, Anthony could get serious minutes at the 5 for us and improve his value.

In no way do I think he's a future 5 for the Celtics. Danny will probably persuade Brad to play him so there can be a chance he opts out

@WojYahooNBA: Y! Sources: Boston, Golden State and Miami complete three-team deal, sending Crawford and Brooks to Warriors. http://t.co/LCFEcVCkU1

@WojYahooNBA: In my haste, I apologize: MarShon Brooks.

I think Stevens will give the minutes to Oly, not Joel Anthony.

    Don't be a fool too!

    Why play Joel Anthony?

Every NBA fan already knows what Joel Anthony can do.

You're not going to fool anyone by starting Joel Anthony.

Once Humpy is gone, Brad will just give Oly more minutes.

This is not good.  Anthony makes more than crawford and brooks combined, will definently opt in for next year.  Who gives a rat's rump about future second round picks?  Essentially we added 400000 dollars to our payroll.  Please, someone tell me I am wrong.

We just added 3.8m to our payroll for next year!

Who knows... the 2nd round picks aren't worthless. Rookies slip for various reasons to the 2nd round. You can sign them to non-guarenteed contracts. Its no-risk potential.

Though... to be fair... that Miami 2nd round pick is essentially worthless its so low.

So Ainge is willing to pay Joel Anthony 3.8m next season just so Ainge can get two 2nd round picks?

On the bright side, Tankapalooza will be in full force!

To be fair, Anthony becomes an expiring next year, coupled with a pick could get us a final piece for contention ;)

It's very obvious that Ainge is using the building through the draft approach.

I mean why else would he collect 1st rounders and 2nd rounders.

It's going to take at least 3 years for draft picks to become playoff ready.

So barring any blockbuster trades, I think the earliest the Celts can contend is in 2018.

Of course the Celts can contend earlier if Ainge can make another blockbuster trade like the KG trade back in 2007.

Danny wasn't planning on signing Crawford after the season, so he basically got something for nothing.

And they have top 5 pick in this year draft plus Pilican low teen pick in a very weak Eastern Conference where loosing record could get you in the playoffs.  With lots of money to spend, it will be interesting if they actually want to start winning next year.

    Win  - win

Play Anthony and he thinks his value will go up, so he opts out.

Don't play Anthony and he thinks he's not being treated fairly, so he opts out!

Something else is brewing, folks.  We just lost Bogans, Crawford and Brooks in 24 hours.

I would still rather have had Montejunas, but I'll take Anthony right now!

I sort of like this. DA dumping salaries. Is there a possibility Anthony could be waived or no???  I like the fact that DA is not waiting for last minute trades
