OK, so for fun let's assume that...

We trade KG and doc for Jordan and 2 draft picks. Maybe butler's contract to make the salaries work or whatever. Then assume we buy PP out as soon as the trade is complete. We would be looking at this lineup:

    1-rondo

    2-LEE

    3-green

    4-sully

    5-jordan

    6th man-bradley

    2d unit:

    1-??

    2-TERRY

    3-butler

    4-bass

    5-melo

then you have to figure out whether guys like Crawford, Williams, Randolph fit into the picture.

So if that's what we're looking at, how do you approach the draft? We clearly need more scoring, we clearly need a 2 who can fill it up from outside, right? We also need a backup 1. And of course, we gotta figure out who's gonna coach this team. Should be an interesting year.

    PG - R. Rondo / ?

    SG - A. Bradley / J. Terry

    SF - P. Pierce / C. Lee

    PF - J. Green / J. Sullinger

     C - D. Jordan / ?

More likely to see something like this. Terry, Lee and Sullinger are all under contract and present solid options off the bench. The big holes remain at back-up PG and C.

Well, a clear "rebuilding" flag goes up and the Celtics still lack a dependable shooter off the bench. Just not much depth.  Draft picks would have to be NBA ready.

This is how I would do it. Terry handles the ball pretty well, he could handle backup point unless we draft a PG.

    PG - R. Rondo / Terry

    SG - Pierce / Bradley

    SF - Green / Lee

    PF - Sullinger / Bass

    C - Jordan / Randolph

Hopefully the new coach will be smarter than Rivers and play everybody.

    It's an 82 game season.

Re: OK, so for fun let's assume that...

First off, I apparently jinxed the trade, for good or bad. Secondly, half you guys must have missed it when I said to assume PP would be gone.

In addition to those points, terry failed as a ball handler this year, as did Bradley, which is why we used PP as a point forward; and green is a 3 much more than a 4.

Guess it doesn't matter now anyway...
