The Sheed contract asset and/or our '11 1st rd pick are far too valuable to give up for Shaq yes we need another big, but that is 2nd in importance to a wing who can guard big SF's like LeBron, Rashard Lewis, Deng, Marvin Williams and even Artest. A Posey like player is important both for the playoffs and regular season. We need to be able to rest Allen and Pierce a lot this season. They CANNOT average 34-37 mins a game anymore. I would prefer a regular season where they average like 31-33 mins and KG 25-27. Parker and Moon are decent options. If we do a sign and trade for Shaq and include our 1st rd pick then we better get one of them. I would prefer the 6'8" Moon as he can run more w/ Rondo and guard taller guys. Parker is a better shooter but Ray/PP can shoot. A 3 team trade would be great, land us Shaq AND a SF. We wouldn't need Perk if we had a frontcourt of KG/Baby @ PF and the O'Neals at Center. I would see if we can find a team to take Perk (and Scal in a sign and trade or maybe Moon/Parker) and add that missing SF.

Agreed ... Why would we give up anything more than a 2nd rounder or cash toward a buyout of Sheed's contract? Based on the CBA, Sheed's $6.3m contract could/should bring back up to $7.975m in a "simultaneous trade" so unless a third team is involved, we'd have to start with an existing wing that we want from the Cavs roster in which they were willing to include in a trade with Shaq.
/> Trades using the Traded Player exception are classified into two categories: simultaneous
. As its name suggests, a simultaneous trade takes place all at once. Teams can acquire up to 125% plus $100,000 of the salaries they are trading in a simultaneous trade. For example, a team trading a $5 million player in a simultaneous trade can receive one or more players whose salary is no more than 125% of $5 million, + $100,000, or $6.35 million in return. <
Per Hoopdata (http://www.hoopdata.com/salaries/CLE.aspx
) Parker's 2010-2011' salary is $2.8m and Moon's is $3m. Taking a max trade exception for Sheed of $8m less $3m for either Moon or Parker leaves us with $5m for Shaq. He wanted MLE money and that's as close as he's gonna get.
I'd do this deal for Parker & Shaq (as we just signed Daniels) and need a shooter. Parker's stats for the season and playoffs were as good as anybodys or better so together him and Quis s/b able to spell PP & RA as needed. I'd still like to see us add a PF/C like Boone if only for rebounding when KG is on the bench and JON is at center. Having Davis, JON and Boone behind KG gives us scoring and rebounding depth. Having Shaq gives us Perk, JON, Shaq & Erden at C with JON able to play PF with Shaq at C should KG get in foul trouble.
This solidifies the C, PF, and SG spots and the SF & PG spots are already set ...
PG) RR - NR - AB
SG) RA - AP - AB
SF) PP - MD - AP
PF) KG - JO/GD - LH
-C) JO - SO/KP - SE
15th spot = Janning @ NBADL
