Yup!  Gets better for the Celts.  Phoenix was probably going to be worse than them any way.  Now Charlotte needs to make some moves.  That way both Wizards and Charlotte will be out of the top-5 picks contention.

A lot of teams are really tanking this season.

On the other hand, Wall, Beal, Nene and Gortat makes the Wiz better.....

We could of got Gortat for Humphries, get Gortat for the season, save the same cap when all said and done.

Kendall Marshall was also included in the deal and hte Wizards are going to waive him.....shouldn't the Celtics bring in Kendall Marshall to give Phil Pressey some competition ? The Celtics have about 2 months to really give a young point guard a good look - Marshall was highly regarded coming out of college, a lottery pick.....why not give him a look ?

What do you guys think ?

I was just going to post the same thing.  Certainly worth a look, and more so than Mr. White.

We could not have gotten Gortat for Humphreys -Gortat makes $7.7M and Humphrys makes $12M

No deal , $$$ has to match or be close

Actually as long as a team isn't over the salary cap it doesn't matter if salaries match.

Under the old labor agreement, the salaries of the traded players had to be within 125 percent (plus 100K) of each other. That will remain the case for taxpaying teams, but the new agreement also makes it much easier for non-tax teams to swing uneven trades. For those teams, it is 150 percent (plus 100K) of the salaries being traded, or the 100 percent of the salaries being traded plus $5 million. The limit on the amount of cash that can be included in a trade remains $3 million — but teams are now limited to trading $3 million in cash per season.

Re: Suns trade Gortat for Okafor

    Wake up Mr Arrogance!

It's not about being right for the moment ... it's about the long term picture. If a player performs better than expected and us fans recognize that we can have expectations for them just as you do yet to be undrafted college players which when you think about it is more ludicrous. At least we have seen these guys play against NBA competition which is more than you can say about potential draft picks. And don't forget, many of those lottery picks have fallen flat on their face so you have less right to talk about Wiggins etal than the posters here do based on real results against real competition.

Just because Babb was cut pre-season doesn't mean he won't make the D-League team and could eventually make it make to the team once more roster spots are available. Obviously Stevens sees something in Babb and while you are right about the crowded space at SG, none of those SG's have stood out and have a lock at the starter or backup position yet. If 2-3 of them are moved then we will see if the team/coach think Babb is the real deal.

Seems that you did the same Debbie Downer on my posts regarding Pressey and now I see you are one of his supporters. We all know he's not stealing RR's starting spot but his will and has stuck and can be a very nice backup ....

You crapped all over Fav with the same nonsense yet we've seen him take on Chandler, Pekovic and Lopez. Maybe in limited minutes but he held his own. Why should we fear an aging KG and some of the other stiffs at center. Fav is no rookie to this game ... he has years of experience and you are giving him little respect based on what? Your opinion? Get off your high horse and stop trying to bully the posters on this board with your BS.
