    The future

Let 2013/2014 be the final run of the big three era. Celtics get banner 18. Paul & Kevin & Terry retire Celtics champions.

Our team would look as such:

    Rondo - 13M

    Green - 9.5M

    Bass - 7M

    Lee - 5.4M

    Sullinger - 1.4

    Melo - 1.3

    2013 pick - 1

Avery will need to be re-signed at lets say 9M

Jordan Crawford might get re-signed at 5M

And then there's (Wilcox, Williams, Randolph, White). This is a good young core. Who could we possibly go after in a free agency to make us contenders?

Sign and trade Crawford.......PLEASE!   The guy is a bad version of JR Smith his first 5 years in the league!  Did you see the play at the end of a quarter last night where Terry was opn to his right and he decided to take a 35 foot shot himself, instead.   Didn't even CONSIDER the possibility of passing the ball.

Bass and Terry are the only deadwood on the Celtics payroll, they need to be flipped for value before we can fully evaluate the new Celtic core.....

At least Aine picked up Draft Day assets in signed players like Crawford, T Williams, DJ White

Let's hope there's a player in the NBA now who wants to play in Boston and sees the Celtics have a young , athletic core.....

    Re: The future

BASS GROWS INTO ROLE: Over the past nine games, Bass is allowing a mere 0.684 points per play, according to Synergy data. To put that in perspective, that's an Avery Bradley-caliber number (for the season, Bradley has allowed 0.695 points per play, best in the NBA among those with at least 400 plays defended). Bass already was eighth on that list at 0.761 points per play, but the fact that he's elevated his defensive game without Garnett is unexpected. "Maybe the blessing is, without Kevin, we've removed the security blanket," Rivers said. "And Brandon, he has to be the talker now on defense.

    Do numbers lie?

We're going to need Bass to play well in the playoffs. Let's support Bass until the end of this season.

After the season is over, the "Bass-hing" can continue.

The better he plays helps us and increases his trade value as you say.  If he was on the bench I would not mind him, it is as a starter that he is deficient.

    Re: The future

The Jeff Green/Paul Pierce tandem is starting to look pretty lethal.  Not sure why so many are wanting to get Pierce to the bench when there aren't but a couple of teams in the league that have a better 2 man team than those two.  (if Jeff continues this play).  Jeff definitely plays better with Paul around.  Two games Pierce missed recently and Jeff scored 10 and 14 pts.  PP opens things up for Jeff.  Doc had better keep him in the lineup.  Sad that it took a injury to get him there.

Now when Rondo comes back are we still going to see Jeff with the ball in his hands on the wing with 16 seconds left on the clock?  This is going to be very interesting with the return of RR. If he is dominating the ball then Jeff is not going to get to create like he does now.

With KG and Sully and maybe another big we could have a very good team next year.  I would like to see a better 2 guard that can hit the 3 and drive.

Front line, Randolph, Sullinger and Green.  Guards, Bradley and Rondo.    If and I say If Rondo would change his game and fit in with the team concept, this could be a very good team.

We need a big and all your assumptions about next year are true. Without the big though we struggle and break down like this year.

Do you think that Jeff would be playing like he is now if Rondo had been on the floor all year?

All we have to do is find one big to put in the mix next year and just a little tweaking and we could be very competitive.
