In response to Gasthoerer's comment:
You gonna tell me that Perk can score inside? He cannot even rebound and block! Ibaka can block but has no inside game and relies on jump shots.
And Bosh is also no inside player! He plays the KG type stretch 5. James is the one posting up, creating double teams and kicks it out to the 3-point line.
My point is anyway: "We just miss a big who can score inside, block inside and rebound" is quite a stretch. The entire league is looking for such a guy. Add a 5 with this qualities to any team and ready is a contender.
Sure Perk is not sexy when it comes to stats. But he brings toughness to the team. And if Perk were still a Celtic, he would be the Celts' leading shot-blocker right now.
Ibaka is not an inside player, true. But he rebounds and block shots.
Bosh is not really an inside player but he rebounds, block a decent amount of shots, and is a scorer.
The reason why the Celts need a big who can score inside, rebound, and block shots is because KG can't do all 3 anymore. When KG first came to Boston he was an effective rebounder and shot-blocker.
While KG is not an inside player, he was an 18.8 ppg player for the Celts back in 2008.
What I'm saying is, other teams have 1 or 2 players that can either block shots or rebound. The Celtics DON'T have anybody that can rebound and block shots.
Also, the Celts need a player who can score inside because KG is missing a lot of point-blank shots. The Celts won a championship, even when Perk was not a scoring a lot of points, because KG was effective on offense. Right now KG keeps missing shots close to the rim.
