    If KG leaves and Pierce is sent packing, get ready to watch lottery ball for a number of years. I certainly don't want that.

    The choice is not between this team and championships, the choice is between this team, and the lottery for a number of years. The new cap rules pretty much prevent the building of super teams.

    It is Danny's job not only to win champinships, but to put people in the seats, and make sure that the bottom line is as big as possible. Both KG and Pierce still have a following.

    While Danny may have said that if he were Red, he would have traded Bird and Mchale, now that he has had more time to walk in Red's shoes, he likely understands why Red did what he did.

    Danny will do what is best for business.

    Not as confident Danny will do whats best.... but your post makes a lot of sense.
