[QUOTE]In Response to Re: WHat if we did blow up the big four? : The Celtics will most likely have 2 first round picks in 2012 as the Clips will most likely be in the playoff hunt next season. So the Celts will likely get that top 10 protected pick in 2012.  Don't forget the class of 2012 is similar to the class of 2003 in terms of star power.

I can absolutely see the 2012 class include LeBron, 'melo, Bosh, Wade, etc........    please.

The Cs will have the 20th and 21st pick in 2012 and get nothing as usual.  It will only be after that season when they start to resemble the current Cavs and Pistons that they can actually start to think about the future.

Does a 500 team draft at 20th?   You have gone on record time and again the C's would be a 500 team next year.

Had Memphis not traded the pick they would be drafting 20th - they were 46 and 26 but of course why let what actually happens get in the way of what is likely to happen.

Checking things once in a while may just get you back into a conversation where you don't sound like a complete imbecile.

[QUOTE]Based on the comments Ainge made recently, he believes the current Celtics with the 3 aging HOFs have another title left in them. That means that Danny will try to swing a trade on the margins but not the core group which includes Rondo. Marc Gasol is a free agent. He would be the best pickup the Celtics could make and would quickly make them legitimate again. Rondo is a quality point guard who is only going to get better. Look at the 37 yr old Jason Kidd who could not shoot a lick when he first came into the league. If Boston fans want to run Rondo out of town, by all means, send to the Lakers.  :)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: WHat if we did blow up the big four? : There is a reason Rondo is not paid like an elite point guard.......  that said, there is no relevance of what he makes compared to other point guards, the relevance how much a team wants to commit to a point guard with very obvious limitations within the new CBA.

Wouldn't it be great to know what the new CBA is before you make a declaration?

There are any number of things in life that it would be nice to KNOW but one has the ability to take all of the information available and make what are known as deductions.  That is where you hear that someone has a big red nose, really weird oversized shoes, a big puffy wig, silk clothes with vertical stripes, lots of make up, and climbing out of a very very small car and you can kind of deduce that it is not the President of the United States and that it may be what some would call a clown.....

So when the league says there are several / many teams losing tons of money, they are looking to cut salaries on average by approximately 40%, that max contracts will be dramatically reduced, the rookie wage scale will be reduced, and that there will likely be a hard cap put in place.... you can deduce perhaps that these are some of the factors that will part of the new CBA.

Does anyone KNOW this?  No.  But one is allowed to take widely available information and make deductions.

What happens here a lot is the teacher says there are going to be 100 questions on the test, the teacher gives the students the 100 questions and answers and sets the date for the test.  One student memorizes the questions and answers and gets a 99 on the test, the other students study 60 of them and assume they know the answers to the other 40 and get a 50 on the test.
