What is happening to our Celtics?

What is happening to our Celtics?

Last night they didn't play well, however, something else has been bothering me more than the loss.

The term tough has always been one of the best adjectives to describe the Celtics since the 2007-2008 championship. I could always depend on this team to over achieve, dig down, and find a way to win. Even last year during the time KG was out I always felt that they were fighting.

Last night was something different, and I am not sure what is wrong.

Did they just give up? Did they lose confidence? Do some player miss Perk? Have they lost interest, and are just going through the motions until the play-offs start? ... or was it just a really bad game?

We'll find the answer come playoffs.

I'm not sure the Oneals and Baby can make up the toughness/intimidation deficit that is obvious before our eyes. Nevermind Kristic and Murphy.

Asking players to behave out of character never works.

Toughness defensively is not the 1st thing you think of with any of the bigs we have now. Even KG.

The 1st thing I think of with KG is his versatility and his dream shake jumper.

    Da

I have to admit that I never know why you say what you do.

Since KG is the the only player on the Cetlics that is a perenial 1st team all NBA defender, I am not sure about your motivation.

This post was more a psychological concern about the Celtics.

The good news, is that the fight is back. The never give up, never surrender Celtics, showed up in New Orleans.

Celtics ball, 1:14 remaining. Pierce drives, pulls up, dishes to KG for the score!

The bench seems to be on the right page, but the starters are still dragging.

The bench has the Green, green grass of home.

Over 20 points a game average from Krystic and Green  we gave up around 11. Thats why we have the bench we do to win games when the starters can't

    Just win baby

    The drive was back tonight.

I real liked what Baby did tonight.

Ray was also clutch on defense. Wow!

For most of the season, the starters brought it and the bench gave it up.
Now the starters are dropping it and the bench is picking it up.
If we get healthier (RR, Shaq, JO) and no more wheels fall off the wagon, we should make a deep run.
If we don't, let's  just say, there'll be a lot of interesting threads.

And his game didn't fall off when "donkey" got traded.
Davis has really upped his stature and game from last year.
Wish another Celtic would look at him as someone to emulate

    Come to think of it.
Remember a few weeks back when everyone was asking/complaining about how BBD's game had fallen off, and then he took a week off for his patellar tendonitis.
More's the reason for Rondo to sit for awhile.

Re: What is happening to our Celtics?

Maybe Houston was just a bad game, however, it is not like the Celtics to just give up the way that they did. It was good to see the bench play Celtic ball last night.

I wonder if they gave the starters some crap in the locker room after the game.
