AGREE !

    That trade sucked

I think the deadweight salary is Bass and Bogans and Courtney Lee....and the Celtics would be crazy not to try to use Humphry's $12M salary to land a big time player.

Wallace's 3yr/$30M deal is not a bad deal at all , it would take at least that to get him as a free agent , and when was the last time a player as good as Gerald Wallace signed in Boston as a free agent ? I can't think of a single player....I say Wallace is a keeper for at least 2yrs and then they could use his expiring $10M to land another big time player.....in the meantime, he's a huge upgrade over Brandon Bass, Big Baby, Rasheed Wallace, Ryan Gomes, ect....

    PHX

GW is a keeper is the Celts are a playoff team.

But why spend 10m per year for 3 years on a 31-year old SF when you're going to be a lottery team for the next 2-3 years?

    It doesn't make sense.

Right now the objective is not to win games.

The objective is to get the highest draft pick available in 2014.

And don't forget that the Celts already have Jeff Green.

Again, it doesn't make sense spending 19m per year on two SFs.
Then trade Jeff Green.

Yes Fierce , Wallace is a keeper if the Celtics are a playoff team , I think they are....

Plus , I think Wallace and Jeff Green will play together at the same time, I don't see Wallace as a SF backup, he is big enough to play power forward (10minutes) as is Jeff Green, and Green will also  play 2 freeing up more minutes for Wallace.....

Wallace is highly skilled and can play the uptempo positionless basketball the Celtics desire

There's only about 6 guys in the whole league who are too big for Wallace to handle......

I hope Ainge keeps Wallace and moves salary with other players

The whole tanking for the lottery thing is crazy, Ainge has gathered enough draft day assets that he can move up to get a top player for the Celtics

My point is , a free agent as good as Wallace would probaby not even sign with Boston , so I think the 3 yr deal is perfect , plus the 3rd expiring year the $10M contract will be a nice asset to flip ....

Wolves are looking for another SF.

Maybe Derrick Williams and Dante Cunningham for Gerald Wallace is possible.

The reason I think why the Wolves would do this is because they want to make the playoffs this season.

From what we've seen this preaseason, GW is still a very good player.

He'll definitely help the Wolves this season.

not a bad idea at all. please include bass or lee's contract

The Wolves don't have anymore players that they can include in the trade.

In this trade, the Wolves will be getting 10.1m while the Celts will be getting 7.2m.

I like it!!! DA please make certain the deal includes the right to swap 1st round picks in the 2014 draft. To include C's 1st round pick acquired from Brooklyn!

    woah woah woah

Gerald Wallace's 30M contract is not a bad deal at all

Are you high? I guarentee one of those brooklyn picks were included solely because we were taking on that contract.

Fierce is absolutely right. Though Walace is still a good player, he has no business being on this celtics team

The issues with the trade are

    A) Celtics reveicing two (more) PFs

    b) Leaving the wolves with no PFs

    c) Wolves now have four SFs on their roster

    A. It doesn't matter.

The objective is not to win.

    Cunningham has an expiring contract.

    And the Celts save money.

    B. When you have Kevin Love, you really don't need another PF because he will play a lot of minutes.

The Wolves can get another PF later.

    C. Budinger is out indefinitely.

I brought up this trade idea because the Wolves are looking for another SF.

    Read the article.
Dude I read the article... said weeks or months on Budinger. They have Brewer and Shabazz.

My point with C, is that it may make sense to include one of those SFs in the outgoing deal.

Aren't they over the cap anyway? What about including buddinger in the trade.

I'd also like to see Danny find a third team for Derrick Williams.

Also on that point, if I were Minny, I'd find a better deal than that. Something like Derrick Williams for Shannon Brown in Phoenix would make more sense to me
