[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Big night in New England basketball : While it's true that football TV money is driving conference realignment you are wrong that conferences are poaching teams based on how good they actually are at football.  For example, Colorado, Missouri, and Texas A & M are hardly the power football teams in the Big 12--especially the first two--but they are the ones who were targeted by the PAC-10 and SEC.  By your logic, it would make no sense to target Syracuse because they have been among the worst teams in the Big East in football.  Pitt has been up and down but otherwise is not much better than say Cincinnati or South Florida in football.    Basically, these conferences just want to add more teams to get a few extra $$ when they negotiate TV contracts with ESPN and the networks (and see other conferences as their competitors who they would like to weaken).  In the end, mega-size conferences with no football tournament will just make the BCS more of a joke, with a bunch of one and two loss teams playing a series of meaningless bowls.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Big night in New England basketball : UMASS played an excellent game beating Temple, perhaps UMASS will be hosting thee NCAA Regionals at the TD Garden. UMASS, and Harvard, who would of thought, and our sorry clowns over there in Chestnut Hilly green with envy. What a great opportunity to show these arrogant Jesuits up, and the Boston Globe. Bittersweet ending for Blaudschaun, and his gang of BC trolls to see UMASS in the Big Dance. Congrats UMIE!

I hope UMass makes it too.  BC fan or not, most local hoops fans would wish for success of the UMass program.

WHRlpgatroll, you once again set the miserable example of how to wollow in your own hate and soiled basement corner.  Hopefully you can one day emerge and become a contributing member of society.

UConn awites the bubble with quality wins and a stong RPI . UCONN will be a 6th seed in the Dance. Syracuse is the biggest surprise not deserving of a #1 seed. Yes they are no match for Cinncinnati, or Pitino's Louisville which will go deep in the Dance.

As for BC, and it's sorry 'trolls' on this site, just post away while your in WHR's closet playing the circle jerk going nowhere!

[QUOTE]The Committee definitely starts getting cute once they have a rough idea of what the guest list looks like.  They knew what they were doing when they lined up Calhoun and Calipari in the second round.  And put Harvard up against Vandy (and then that Wisconsin team that cheeroh mentioned the other day).
