Hockey East Finals tonight at the Garden

I was on hand last night to see some pretty exciting college hocky action as the Hockey East semifinals were under way. In the first game BC beat Northeastern, but NU for sure made it interesting in the final minutes and I was pulling for them.
In the second game Merrimack College came out on top of UNH in a game was started and ended with excitement. It was clear that once everyone settled down that Merrimack was the dominant team. When , in the final minutes of the game, UNH pulled their goalie to give them an extra man on the ice, I knew Merrimack was coming away with the victory. One of Merrimack's big strengths is their ability to play when outmanned on the ice. Even when  UNH got the power play in the final minute of the game after a Merrimack penalty making it a 6-4 UNH advantage on the ice, Merrimack still managed to score a goal and end the game unscathed.
Merrimack brought over 3000 fans with them, this is more than the entire student population of the school and speaks to their popularity in the Merrimack Valley area.
Merrimack takes on defending Hockey East champs BC tonight for the finals. It promises to be a chippy game for sure. Game time is 7pm.

The Saturday night game was fantastic too.  Hats off to Merrimack an up and coming program, lots of strong players and it shows, they can skate all night long.

But BC is really primed, and pulled it out late.  Jerry York knows exactly what he's doing, and this roster, full of locals, is a fantastic team.

Saturday night's game was excellent. Very exciting and Merrimack has become a legitimate contender in Hockey East. They're playing Notre Dame next weekend in Manchester in the NCAA tournament. Even though Merrimack beat BC during the season, going into lasts night's game I harbored no illusions for sure. BC can outskate just about anyone and I knew it would be an uphill battle for Merrimack. They should be proud of how far they've come this season and their performance this season will make it easier for them to recruit for upcoming seasons.

Anyone know if Kreider will be able to return this season?

Good luck to the Warriors in NH!

Kreider is back at practice today and will be in the lineup in St. Louis on Friday night vs. Colorado College.  Look for Jimmy Hayes to get it going again with Kreider back on his line despite his hat trick vs. UMass in the QFs.  Hayes should have nailed in another 3 goals in the semis with 3 great scoring chances but came up empty.

    Never doubt Jerry York.

Kimba Walker Eaglebeagle1 or is it Eagle 79?

"They're as athletic as any Big East-type team, without question," Calhoun said. "They're skilled and they're a team that clearly has high-quality athletes and has won. … We happen to have a super player, in my opinion the best player in America. In a San Diego State [and] Big East teams, there isn't much difference, and hopefully, maybe, Kemba will make the difference in that game."

Say, given your track record in predicting success for ND's b'ball team, you may want to chill about the prospects of the hockey team.

And yes, North Andover is near Lawrence.  Both of those places are quite a distance from "Lennox", where you claim to live.

Let's see...except for the past 2 years, when BC basically had no QB, BC has owned ND in football for a decade.  I'll give ND a slight edge in Hoops over the decade, though BC had some very good teams during the past 10 years.

Now, that leaves hockey...ummm, let's not go there...right Domers?

Of course it would always help that in the part of your post you did not copy from someone you actually knew how to spell Walker's name; it is Kemba not Kimba
