The Globe's Steve Crowe previews the boys' lacrosse season in today's paper (be sure to check out the online version for additional information on the region's top squads).

Boston.com rolled out the first-ever boys' lacrosse Top 20, while Crowe provides some analysis on the preseason rankings.

Now we want your thoughts and predictions. How do you see the 2007 boys' lacrosse season unfolding? Who are the teams and players to watch?

I think you're being a bit over the top by saying that crowe doesn't know anything about lacrosse. What his job was with the top 20 was to gauge where all the competitive teams from last year look as we head into the season. He is not considering any scrimmages that have taken place so far this season because they don't really matter, they are more about the teams preparing for the season. As for DS beating HW bad in the D3 semis last year, that was last year, things change. Don't rip Crowe because your hometown squad isn't ranked and some team you guys beat last year is ranked 19th. And how do you know medfield or Cohasset couldn't beat wellesley? Medfield lost to them in overtime last year in the emass final, when wellesley's D was much more experienced than this year's group. medfield and wellesley play on saturday in Medfield.

    Laxguy:

CM didnt beat Norwell, Austin Prep and Lassell, they crushed them. The backups have played every fuorth quarter of every game. And CM scored 8 times against MC in the third quarter, that kid #10 left the game and the MC coach pulled his goalie, it was 4-0 after the first, 6-2 after halftime and 14-3 after the third. CM is legit this year.

Oh, and rumor has it that the MC coach changed the date of the game because of the weather (and a lack of respect towards CM players and coaches), so they DO NOT get a pass for that.

    Ah, it all becomes clear.

Are you a sore loser from Malden Catholic (unlikely) or merely a scared little boy on BC High who knows that CM beat them two out of four times in the last four years when they were a struggling team and now shivers every time he sees the score of the 17-3 whipping that CM gave to MC?

Maybe Norwell just got lucky? So by comparison CM must have been lucky when they blew them out 14-4....by your logic, there is a whole lot of "luck" floating around baker street.....

    they will not compete?

Xaverian is 2-0 in the league

    Prep is 1-1

    BC High is 0-1

    Malden Catholic is 0-2

CM is sitting pretty at 1-0, with three games to perfect their play before back to back games against Xaverien and St. Johns Prep.....seems to me that they are in second place right now, and that is most certainly competeing.

And by the by, that one player that CM has....you know the one you couldn't name the other day, which one is he #23, #22, #9, #15, #11, #1....all of those players have a good amount of points.....methinks CM has more than one guy.

hey laxguy07...if you go to the game tomorrow to see cm get "smoked" just yell something so that everyone knows who you are...and your probably from Xaverian or Prep and your just scared that CM is actually doing good this year and you guys might lose a game to us and destroy your reputation of being the best in the catholic conference...but seriously buddy get a life and stop living your life on these useless blogs that mean nothing to anyone..so i suggest you get some friends . now thats funny .

Duxbury beat Needham 10-4. Needham and Billerica are comparable teams, so I think

Duxbury can probably handle anybody in the state. (again, alas)
