Why wouldn't the Globe have a photo list of sports statues and not credit the sculptors who did the work?  Seems a golden opportunity to provide the public with the sculptor's names so that people could try to find other works by the same artist.  As an aside, most of them are pretty awful, rife with proportional problems and exaggerated forms and gestures.  I fear the Bill Russell piece will go in that direction based on the finalists' work. i would have approached John Wilson (Brookline, Professor Emeritus, BU) because of his work at the African American Museum here and in Washington DC in the Capitol.  Or someone with his immense skills.
