With another gruesome injury to an area baseball player, the debate over whether aluminum bats should be used in high school play is crawling back into the headlines.

This weekend, Globe North chronicled Hamilton-Wenham freshman Matt Cook, who was struck in the head while pitching batting practice to the varsity team
. "How many more Matt Cooks will there be before they make a change?" asked Matt's mom, Ann Cook.
