Ed Reed will be this years Junior Seau

Instinctive veteran hall of famers playing Defense for the Patriots is a signature Bill Belichick move.  He appreciates the great careers of great players especially on defense where instincts and football IQ are paramount....

Ed Reed will become the latest example following all time great Junior SEAU the last Great player to fill in seamlessly and contribute to a belichick defense.  BB gets these players who love the game and play with that energy.  It's going to be great seeing Ed Reed playing defense for the NE Patriots.

Junior Seau is still one of my all-time favorites. If Reed could make a positive impact then i'll be happy to have him. He's a future Hall of Famer for a reason. You don't just lose it over night.

So far, Soap was this year's Junior Seau. He did cost a fifth minus a sixth rounder.  That's pretty close to a seventh rounder, maybe a bit less because BB sometimes hits the jackpot with seventh rounders.

I was expecting Tim Tebow to show up late in the season as a cold weather run-only specialist.  It's still a possibility, especially on the off-chance that Tom Brady busts his buns (hopefully not for long).  Then Tebow could spell Ryan Mallett on obvious run plays.  Mallett doesn't strike me as much of a runner on third and two when the Patriots are two touchdowns ahead, into the teeth of a gale wind with sleet, and so on.  A real Junior Seau was with the team in pre-season.

so A. Wilson was this years Harrison and now Reed will be Seau? First lets see if they even sign him. Second lets see what he has left. If he does sign hopefully you don't mean Seau in his last half year who was basically along for the ride trying to get a SB

Well it seems he has developed a bad attitude- not wanted in Baltimore and shot his way out of Houston

Some guys on this board will condemn this move if its made and doesn't work out, but will applaud it if he helps us win a SB, but they should recognize that it is a very low risk vs tremendous reward situation as we have suffered injuries to multiple key defensive players. This would also illustrate yet again, the importance of leaving cap room like the 4 million we have left. You never know when you get a chance to sign an Ed Reed.

No kidding!  Chad played offense!  Read my post again. Where did I say he played Defense?  My point is that he was a big name that we signed who was totally washed up.  He was a wasted signing, much like Reed would probably be.  He didn't get cut because he is still an effective player.  I highly doubt that BB will even pursue this.

Re: Ed Reed will be this years Junior Seau

Good morning friends...  lol.   Your comparison of ocho is painfully dumb and even more ridiculous to try and argue about it.  OCHO and REED could not be more different players ,personalitees , positions and yes sides of the ball.  You have an agenda against me perhaps...?   Bring it on ,  since you have BS up the wazzu.

The thread is comparing Reed and SEAU who reached similar levels of greatness at their Defensive positions...   Reed -9 probowls,  Seau -12 probowls  .  Defensive greats have great instincts and are always around the ball making plays,  always in the right position using their brains as much as their athleticism (although their ahleticism was off the charts as well).  Hopefully BB recognizes that Reed still has the smarts and (enough) athleticsm to help the Patriots.   We shall see but as I have posted over and over (til people are sick of it) it is kind of a no-brainer...  Alot of upside with low risk or investment.  #1 is pass the physical.  Yeah ive been jumping ahead but hey shoot me , I lke predicting stuff.

Ochostinko was slow and dimwitted like hmmmm....  Athletic but not smart enough to carve a niche for himself in the Patriots offense...   You called him washed up which is also not intelligent.  He wasn't slow footed , he just couldn't grasp how to fit into the scheme that the offense was putting out there.  Some of the blame goes to the design of the offense but thats another thread.  Then his personal life crapped out...   Probly like yours.

Oh well....   Theres always BDC where you can vent your frustration to make yourselves feel better...lol.

RT @mortreport: Ed Reed's options included Jets (possibly) but not Patriots, Ravens or Colts. Not sure about Saints. As of late last night.

That's about as clear as a late night tweet could be...    WE'll see what happens today.  LMAO that reed would go to the Jets over Patriots .    Maybe he's not as smart as I thought...lol.
