LOL. I am looking at MB's selection on the Ipad and it shows him picking Hopkins. And I came to this computer a second later and it shows S Williams. Must have been quite a dilemma for MB.

Haha, yeah I did have DeAndre and it was quite the dilemma... but just see too much value in Williams and considering the depth at the WR position, I think a DT was a better play.

For the record, given this scenario I like the Williams over Hopkins pick as well.  There would be a bigger drop-off in talent from Williams to a late 2nd round DT vs. Hopkins to a late 2nd Round WR, IMO.  We can still land a very good WR with pick 59.  Plus I've become a huge fan of Sylvester Williams.

Manti Te’o runs a bit faster at Notre Dame Pro Day Posted by Michael David Smith on March 26, 2013, 12:10 PM EDT Manti Te'oAP

Manti Te’o has run his long-awaited 40-yard dashes at Notre Dame’s Pro Day, and Te’o was a little faster today than he was at last month’s NFL Scouting Combine.

Todd McShay of ESPN timed Te’o at 4.75 seconds in his first 40 and 4.71 seconds in his second, and that was the general consensus of the other reporters on the scene: Te’o improved upon his 4.82-second 40 from the Scouting Combine by somewhere around one-tenth of a second.

So will this matter? It certainly won’t hurt: Te’o said after the Combine that he’s “obviously” faster than he showed in Indianapolis, and now he can back that talk up with his times.

But a difference of one-tenth of a second in the 40 is probably not going to make a huge difference for Te’o. We talk about 40-yard dashes at this time of year because we don’t have much else to talk about, but what really matters is how a player plays football. The teams that had doubts about Te’o before today will still have doubts, and the teams that liked Te’o before today will still like him.

good call MB. I see the real depth at DT in the top 50 picks or so while the depth of the WR position in the top 25-96 range. No need to go that early with WR when you can find some top end talent in the back of the 2nd too

That's a tough one and based solely on who they take in the 1st. For me if they take a DT in the 1st then it's Da'Rick Rogers. I do believe he has 1st round talent and listening to him I think he's gotten over his maturity issues similar to how Hern got over them.

If DT isn't taken in the 1st it would have to be J. Williams. Another guy I think has 1st round potential but because of the depth at DT I think he pushes him to the 2nd round

    To MB

just getting back in since   ... oh maybe screen 99 .. so i am not up to date.

i was listening to Pat Kernan on NFL radio and he spoke of Robert Woods of USC and said he was one of the better Pro-ready WRs . He said that being from the USC pro type offense he gets the defense /read route options  chracteristic of the complex ( read Pats offense). he was discussing this in regards to Heyward -Bey  free agency and was saying in the NFL ..speed is a consideration but if you cant seperate , ie route option understanding ,you are at best an average NFL WR.

How do you rate Woods? I see he is a junior. has he applied for the draft and would he be considered 3rd round  or would he last till . what is the Pats next choice 6th round?

NE has a single pick in Rd 1, 2 & 3 as well as two picks in Rd 7.

I see Woods as a Day 2 pick, likely Rd 2... he'd interest me at the end of Rd 2 if others (Bailey/Patton) have already been taken.

Rogers does sounds like a pretty well spoken kid, I agree.  Also hope he'stake steps in the maturity dept because I love his size, toughness, physicality and RAC potential.

With the news about Barrett Jones dropping, I'd have to go with him. Too much talent and value to pass on in the draft. I sort of hope he drops to atleast rd 3 so we can get him.

Then again, there is Cyprien as well. Tough Question!

If you could take (1) Non-Rd 1 kid, who would it be and why?

For me, it's Stedman Bailey... personally, I think this kid should be taken in Rd 1, but I don't think he will be... I think he's that good.

I thought you would've picked Jenkins over Williams. Or do you predict Jenkins going in the 1st?

I'm thinking Jenkins is a late 1st round

Good choice for AZ and Cincy! MB if you draft for the patriots again take Dennard Robinson if he's still availible. Since you didn't grab the WR in the first round. He's going to be taken by a team with the ability to see past his college QB days. They say he's working on playing DB and WR/KR/RB he's a freak as far as speed goes. The reason why i took Watson for the Lions is their Oline sucks and this kid has all the tools and ability that he needs to succeed in the NFL.Plus I don't expect to see any of the top tackles to be on the board past the second rd.

As you asked i think the player with the most upside not presently considered a 1rst pick that I would want the Patriots to take is Dennard Robinson he's the most gifted player who won't be playing his college position. He is a combo monster waiting to happen. He is working on his running game and WR skills, but just as importantly he's even working on becoming a DB just in case..He's got game and speed and that is a great combination.
