"Jamie Collins, LB (6-foot-3 5/8, 250 pounds) - Collins stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine (he was a top performer in his position group in five events). Collins' official 40-yard dash time (4.64 seconds) in Indianapolis is especially notable. Collins worked out as both a linebacker and defensive lineman with his hand in the dirt. He'll have a lot of intrigued teams visit for a private workout. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com"

This makes me feel a little bit better. Is Spikes expendable now?

Nah WIlfork and Spikes anchor the middle of the line, esp on running downs. If anything this makes Fletcher expendable which isn't a bad thing since Fletcher can't stay healthy

I feel like it would be Keenan Allen. Just a hunch.

I wouldn't mind that at all. If he knee recovers he'd be a top 3 WR in this draft. But, that is if his knee recovers which is causing concern and why he's falling

I like Allen the most but if BB did he would have taken him at 52

We didn't need another LB, the heck is BB thinking? This seems like  reach. We have 4 potential starting LBs but we have no one to help Chandler get to the QB with his hands on the floor.

He is best when getting after the QB. Watch the tape, thats what he excels at.

Yes, but with his hands in the up, not on the turf. We have players for a 43 defense, Collins seems like he would've been great as a 34 OLB, but can he really play 4-3 DE?

He's a pure LB. HIghtower would move to DE where he played at times in Ala

Is Hightower a pass rusher? Nope.

I would say you bring up a good point - there is no way they are going to sign Spikes to a long term deal. I think Mayo will eventually move back inside, they'll put Hightower next to him...Collins and Jones may be the hybrid, outside types with Nink and who ever they draft next year.

Too bad?  What, we need to draft an RB now?  You're pathetic.

I think he means too bad because Denver is our top competition in the NFL, not because NE needed the player.

Concentrate on what you're good at...like the proposed trade of Mallett to Cleveland. Bawahahahaaa! Hey there's still a couple of picks left in the second...you still think we are getting "at least a second round pick" for Mallett, dumbo?

Let me guess, now you think NEXT year we will get that pick.

    No on Spikes being expendable.

I believe there will be opponents where a Spikes type player would be more your 3-down LB against running teams. You'll want a speedier lineup against a team that passes more.
