    Belichick: Get rid of PAT

On the Herd this morning,  Colin Cowherd had an audio clip of BB philosophising about getting rid of things that don't matter, ie point after, which 99.9% are good or moving it back to where it's actually a challenge.  Also, I think he's in favor of just placing the football on the 20 and getting rid of the kickoff, since most are ging out of the endzone.  Thoughts?

Re: Belichick: Get rid of PAT

Don't think BB is really in favor of just placing the ball at the 20.  He'd much prefer a real kick off.  All he was saying was that if the kick off were altered to the point where it resulted in nothing but touchbacks, then it would become a meaningless play and the NFL may as well get rid of it.  He then went on to talk about how P.A.T.s were pretty much meaningless plays because the chance of getting the (kicked) P.A.T. was nearly 100%.  His suggestion of making the P.A.T. more difficult is an interesting one . . . and one I've never heard anyone else make before.  It's one reason why BB is such an interesting coach.
