    Brady V Manning - Who's going to be PAID??!!

    Both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have contracts up at the end of this season.  Manning signed a few years ago, what was at that time, one of the highest paying contracts ever.  Brady has yet to even come close to being one of the highest paid.  The Colts camp has already come out and said they WILL make Manning the highest paid player in the NFL.  Given how everyone places Brady and Manning on the same plateau, QBs 1A & 1B, will the Pats fess up and pay Brady equivalent dollars?  If anything, they owe him more money than the Colts owe Manning!

    Given the Patriots tendancy to not pay, no matter how valuable a player is to the franchise, do any of you get the scary feeling they may diss Brady and low ball him?  Or will Kraft do the honorable thing, fess up and pay Brady for all he did to date and make him the exception to the rule?  He's definitely brought more team hardware to the Pats than Manning has.  What say you all?

    Brady is not looking to break the bank, he him self has said he already thinks he gets paid to much for what he does.  That doesn't mean he'll play for free but he won't be looking for the type of deal Manning will be or will get.

    Last contract he left some money on the table with the request the Pats use it to get some playmakers.  That's our quarterback.

    Well Jim Irsay went public today and said he's going to break the bank to pay Peyton this off-season.

    The Patriots won't be forced to because Brady won't demand that money.

    I see the Patriots making TB a very lucrative deal (short of the Manning deal). But a contract that will be fair and give him the ability to take care of his family. It will also be team friendly as it was the first 6. Enough to make TB very rich and enough in the tank to make some noise in free agency and in the draft.

    Brady is one of the few players in the NFL that has openly come out saying he doesnt care abouthuge money mking contracts he took a paycut for moss and hasn't really even mentioned his contracting ending in 2010. With that said the Patriots won't break the bank if they dont have to. I do think he should get paid like manning but then again i think we should still have asante samuel for sure. Possibly seymour though i did like the trade for a number one.

    They prob will franchise wilfork too which wolfork will be pissed and prob hold out especially if the talk of aquiring julius peppers is correct dos it make sense to not pay wilfork but then gaurantee peppers years and cash , lol wilfork will be pissed. Unless we tend on either spending a shitload of money this offseason or letting people go again its going down!!!

    Brady=$
    Wilfork=$
    Peppers=$
    Boldin=$

    thats just some of the few possibilities not counting allof our free agents watson, faulk etcccc and draft picks and other free agent pickups

    Manning signed a seven-year, $99.2 million deal with the Colts in 2004. His brother, Eli, has since signed a six-year, $97 million contract with the New York Giants, giving him a higher per-year average than his brother.

    the Pats will not sign Brady to a huge contract because of what he did for them in the past.  That is not how they operate.  They see it as a business, and will look at it as what can he do for us now and in the future.  But, how is it the Colts can reward their top player and still have a dominant team, while the Pats focus on saving money, and have not won the SB in over 5 years...while the Colts look like a current dynasty.  Their no name defense is unbelievable..small and fast and tough.  Reminds me of the Pats D from 2001-2005.

    There's a lot more to Brady than football.......which is not true of Manning.  Brady doesn't need as much money as Manning....he's married to Giselle,

    Why is this important? It's not to Brady who already has more money than he knows what to do with and is married to a wealthy super model. What's next comparing their dick sizes? Oh wait we can just ask Leon I bet he knows.

    Re: Brady V Manning - Who's going to be PAID??!!

    Manning deserves to be the highest paid player in the NFL. That franchise is nothing without him. Conversely, the Patriots experienced life without Brady two seasons ago and found it bearable. So if you ignore the probablity that Brady won't hold the Pats over a barrel (as has been noted), the answer to the question of whether or not the Pats would break the bank for Brady, the answer is no. The reason Brady is so valuable to the Pats is exactly because he understands the team concept and has never allowed money to define him -- the way guys like Deion Branch and Asante Samuel did. There is simply no evidence to suggest that any player is above Kraft's business model -- not even The Golden Boy.

    Pay-A-Ton is going to get more because he is all about the almighty DOLLAR!  Between his huge contracts and 5 million commercials, he is rolling in the dough and doesn't care that there is less for his team-mates......

    Brady knows more about the concept of team and will take a smaller paycheck.....

    Anyone who thinks that the more money you make determines who is better, needs take football 101.

    Re: Brady V Manning - Who's going to be PAID??!!

    Brady deserves a lucrative deal, but they will not break the bank on him.  The Pats are all business and will not let emotion influence their decisions.  The factors that will prevent Brady from getting a Manning type deal:

    1. He's becoming more susceptible to injuries.  The QB who never got injured started having a lot of injuries.  The ankle in the 2007 playoffs, knee in 2008, ribs, shoulder, finger in 2009.  Give him an A for effort for playing through most of those injuries, but the injuries absolutely effected his play.  The Pats may wonder if this will be a trend that will worsen, or if it's just a string of bad luck.

    2. His clutch play ability was what made Brady special.  He did not show that this year.  Does that give the Pats any pause?  Granted, Brady still had his 2nd best year stats-wise, but this is why I don't like stats.  The come from behind victories you just knew were going to happen didn't happen.  The crucial 3rd or 4th down play you just knew he would make he didn't.  Injuries no doubt played a role in this.  Don't talk to me about the lack of a 3rd receiver.  Brady was clutch in 2006 and had no talent around him.

    The Pats are not about to let Brady go.  He's still an elite franchise QB.  My comments above are merely what I think will keep him from "breaking the bank", even if he wanted to break the bank.  He should still have a smile on his face.  Heck, he's married to Gisele.  What else does he need?

    Re: Brady V Manning - Who's going to be PAID??!!

    Tom Brady couldn't keep a straight face asking for big money for his 'family'. Giselle is a franchise all her own and has increased Brady's net worth more than The Colts will ever do for Manning. I think Brady will be very reasonable and avoid the challenge/discussion of his declining performance that would be necessary if he asks for a big contract. Brady doesn't 'need' a lot of money from the Pats, and it will seem very magnanomous of him when he doesn't ask for as much as some think  the QB position is worth.

    Re: Brady V Manning - Who's going to be PAID??!!

    It should also be noted that Manning IS the Colts franchise. When he retires from play, it is highly likely he will continue to be involved in some front office capacity - perhaps eventually as GM. Football seems to be his whole life. Tom Brady, on the other hand, is sure to be more involved in some other celebrity capacity than football. He is a jetsetter. His lifestyle will probably be an issue in his negotiations. IF you were signing a player to a big money contract, wouldn't you be concerned about his distractions and slipping performance? Every great NFL QB eventually enters the back nine of his career as injuries and age take their toll. Manning will be negotiating at his peak; Brady not so much.

    Re: Brady V Manning - Who's going to be PAID??!!

    The one and only sticking point I see in the negotiations is that Brady is now an alternate representative for the player's union.  The union he represents wouldn't be too happy with him if he accepts a deal far below market value.  If he does, then owners will be able to tell their quarterbacks, "well, look what Brady is getting paid, you can't ask for more than that".

    Brady almost has an obligation to get a good deal from the Patriots.  Now, I definitely don't think he will hold them hostage, but it won't be some huge discounted deal either.

    Just seeing how Payaton is, I'm sure he will demand to be the highest paid player in the league while Brady sees the bigger picture and realizes its not all about the money.
