Sad day but he cant contribute to this team anymore. Its the sad fact its he sits on the bench and provides nothing for this team or he retires.

We all love you Tedy, but please try and stay in shape once you're officially retired because if someone should go down, I think we'd all rather call you or Junior over playing someone like Paris Lennon...

One of the all-time great Patriots but let's face it, he hasn't made a big play in the past 4 years.  It's time.

Well that's an overstatement. He's made many big plays over the past four year -- just maybe not as many as the four years before that.

Possibly the most deserved retirement of any player in NFL! I'll miss his energy and passion, but I will welcome him to come back and coach if he ever has any intrest in it.

I think it was time. He went from being one of the best players on our defense to being the third best LB on the team.

Congrats on a long career, Hello, to retirement, good night to the Patriots. 54 will never be forgotten in the hearts of the fans.

No more Teddy or Vrabel or Rodney or Willie or Troy ... just a bunch of cocky young kids ... wish I could hit the rewind button back to '96.  Gonna take a while for these new guys to earn our respect.  Still got Brady and Faulk.  Never liked Seymour, he's always made it clear he's here for the money.

Hope we see you in the playoffs with Junior, Teddy!

Re: Bruschi to annouce his retirement tomorrow...

Considering how many injuries the Pats suffer each year, don't be surprised if we see him again.  Unless he comes out and announces a firm retirement like Harrison, I expect to see him before the season ends.  We are one of the most injury prone teams in the NFL.

Thanks for the memories and the spirit and courage that you have shown. The mere fact that he was able to play again after suffering a stroke is already a testament to his character. Enjoy retirement and kids. We'll miss you Tedy. End of an era in Patriots history.
