    Draft Day Trade....

I was wondering if you guys could think of a trade that could be made on draft day (Like Moss).  I know we don't have inside information, but there is a lot of good opinions on here.  Maybe they can make a move for Steve Smith (Carolina).  They just realeased Delhomme and might be looking to go in a different direction.

i fully expect the patriots to use one of their 2nd round picks on a restricted free agent in the coming weeks.

Why are so many people high on trading Moss? I don't get it. He finishes 5th in the league stats with 13 TD's and did this INJURED!

I truly believe the Patriots want Moss to retire as one and I think we all should. At half speed he's better than most WR's. Plus, Brady loves him. You don't dump Moss because the Patriots didn't bookend him with another deep threat. No, you don't panic. Instead, you get that bookend for him and the Patriots have to be thinking Brandon Tate can do just that. He can blaze. Cromartie and Reevis would have their hands full if these 2 are healthy.

Mr Bungle (how appropriate), he was referringto the draft day trade that brought Moss to NE, not angling for him to get moved now.

To be honest, I haven't heard any rumblings about fans wanting to ditch Moss. I heard Moss say he's going to walk after this season and reason it out with some ignorant statements, but even still, I don't know where you're hearing fans say they want to trade him...

Revis handled Moss just fine. If Revis is healthy, a WR has his hands full finding daylight, not the other way around.

I'd like to see Moss stay too, but without a second deep threat, i can't stand watching him be double teamed all day. hopefully brandon tate will will live up to his glory in college and deliver this year.

I hate to repeat myself(previous post in another section), BUT: I cannot believe that with all these extra "stockpiled" draft picks, BB could not, or would not, swing a trade for Cromartie. Now the cocky, arrogant, loud-mouths have a Pro Bowl cover corner who is going to thrive in their system, and they have the ability to shut down teams with multiple threats. Meanwhile, we have Wilhite, and people are talking about going after Lito Sheppard? Cromartie for a 3, and we have a one and 2 twos to work with? What am I missing here? By the way, teams can no longer "throw away from Revis" and expect success; Cromartie can make plays and take it to the house. They only need average safeties now. Re-sign Bodden. NOW!

    ma6dragon9-

Yes, I am aware of what the OP was referring to.

I've seen a lot of people getting down on Moss actually.

Sorry to have ruined your day.

Ruined my day? Hardly. Projecting much?

And getting down on someone is a far cry from calling for a trade to get him out of town.

Anywho back to the question.... I would love to see us sign Marshall to an offer sheet. A carolina trade for steve smith is interesting although very doubtful i would also love the pats to entertain something similiar.

what about pierre thomas of the saints.  hes a restricted free agent.  not sure on the tender.  kirk morrison of oakland has a 2nd rd tender, sounds like the raiders don't want him.  he would fit nicely next to mayo on the inside although hes a tackler and we need a sack specialist.  Brandon marshall from the broncos may be worth the risk.

dare I say shawne merriman.  I know hes a punk, but two years removed from reconstruction surgery and maybe he took some roids in the offseason.  just kidding i'd want this punk just about as much as cromartie with his 7 kids and 6 women + legal problems.

Agree with ccussion about B Marshall.  I've been screaming on these boards to sign him up for like, 3 days now.  And I'm going to keep going on about it until BB takes his head out of his Back Down South and listens to ME. Only I, and every one who agrees with me, know how to proceed with this football team.  Just trust me, Bill.  I've watched TONS of football on TV!

But seriously:  I like the B Marshall for 22 idea.

    Re: Draft Day Trade....

I would love to see Pierre Thomas in a PATS uniform.  I think he is a complete back,  but I don't feel that RB is a major need for the Pats.  It is the one position that they have depth (Maroney, Taylor, Morris, BJE, and probably Faulk).  It would be nice to have that one stud, but there is so many other needs on the team.   I was just trying to think of some times that might be rebuilding and willing to move a player that would benefit the team.

Draft day trade. Brady is getting up there in QB age which means his Superbowl opportunities are getting limited. With that in mind I can see Bill trading next years Oakland pick we have for a lower first round this year and yes another second rounder on draft day. Next I can see Bill getting Tom young stud tight end and a younger version of Randy Moss.

Revis is an amazing talent and yes he did handle Moss quite well but Moss said he was injured and Brady is a year removed from missing an entire year and his timing should be better. Let's keep Moss and pair him with someone. I would say that the demise of the PATS is greatly exagerated and too soon. Four day one picks and a smart coach and we still have some great players on this team. Our schdule will be difficult as I look on paper but I will go to battle with the PATS any day. Lots of money being thrown around is the easy way to put your name in the papers but it is not the Patriot way. Be patient please.

Interesting idea...pick up marshall and morrison...and still have 2 picks in 2nd round to pick up OLB and CB...or TE.  I personally think that ILB would help our pass rush almost as much as OLB.  It think the overall problem is linebackers in general, rather than just their passrushing responsibilities.  AT, Mayo, Morrison, and TBC can get to the passer enough I think, while still stopping the run.

I don't think BB is moving up in this draft and all the baloney about trading the Raiders first round pick for next years draft are a joke. They traded Seymour with the anticipation of a rookie salary cap in 2011. As for this year they are more likely to trade out of the first round than anything else.

Exactly, like it or not, the Patriots will be rebuilt through the crapshoot that is the NFL draft.

Well, I seem to think Dallas has a lot of RBs they need to consider dealing.

I think Gresham probably could be the right fit at #22 if the pats need TE.

Only Marshall if they really think Welker is seriously compromised for 2010.

Agree on your observation regarding the LBs.  At was definitely nt going all teh way on the edge rush. But one several occasions, the OLBs were also caught cheating to help inside.
