Ravens safety Ed Reed
has a severely sprained ankle but X-rays were negative and no MRI is scheduled at this point, according to the team.
Reed had to be helped off the field after hurting himself on a jump ball in the end zone at the end of Baltimore's divisional round playoff win over the Texans. Earlier in the fourth quarter, Reed made a key interception to help seal the Ravens' trip to Foxborough to play the Patriots in next week's AFC Championship Game.
The Ravens say Reed will rehab the ankle this week; his availability for next Sunday will bear watching.
After the game, Reed declared himself fine. Referring to the Patriots, he told reporters in Baltimore, "We're coming and they know it."
