I cannot say JE is better then WW...different yes, more versitile, yes, maybe less of a choke in big games, but better?..not solely as a slot receiver, but overall, kinda, yeah, given his versatility...I'm glad he's here...then again, Brady makes everyone better...and WW is now playing with another great QB.....if WW was playing with a run -of -the -mill QB his numbers wouldn't be near what they have been.
Out of respect to Welker, I did not say better. Welker is EXCLUSIVELY a slot WR who is only effective/productive when the QB is in the shotgun.
The better part comes in with the varying elements to Edelman's game that promote a more dynamic skill set/less predictable player within our offense. This is my point. His skill set is more balanced, hence it helps our offense be more balanced.
It's kinda like a Jeep. Welker is more like a sports car, but Edelman can get over the mountain pass because he's a Jeep.
BB knew this which is why it was so easy to take him out. It's why I knew Arrington, even with a questionable groin issue, would take him out. Of course, as per usual, I am laughed off the board before it happens, then when it happens, everyone who mocked me, go quiet and hope I don't remind them why I was right.
IMO, Edelman will have a better postseason this year than Welker ever had here. He may not get the 15 targets, but we'll see a better Brady and a better flanker position than we've had in a while.
Ummm Welker has more receptions, more yards, more than twice as many TD's and A HIGHER Average yard per reception.
- Edelman had two games with longs in the 40's ( one for 43 and one for 44) and 6 games where his long was below 19. One game he even had a long of 7. LOL
- Oh ya, he's much more diverse. Bwahahaha
FACT: If Gronk had been here since Week 1, Edelman would have more TDs than the 5 he has now. Welkie has benefitted from a healthier cast around, but will Julius Thomas ever be the same?
Will Welkie's stats matter in January? What do you think, Pissidispensers? LOL
I am not paying 5 million more dollars for what I can get for 1 million. Simple math.
I;d also take two bodies (Edelman and Amendola) at 7 million than Welkie at 6 million, now and in the future. Not even close based off what we saw the other night. 2 boides are better than 1. Again, simple math.
BB just dropped a blueprint on how to take away Welkie and now you'll see KC use it this weekend.
Heck, I wouldn;t be shocked to see Denver struggle down in Houston because of that blueprint.
KC's mistake which is what I said the day after the game was they played too much man an and never mixed in any zone. Watch that change and watch Welkie show why he's not as effective in colder weather vs good Ds.
All we hear about all the time is how everyone else besides BB is so great. Everyone else is the better GM, coach, defensive mind, etc. How is Dick LeBeau doing without his usual cast of quality veterans in their prime? Hmm?
Quit babbling and deflecting, Welker is the better player, Period ! And I really like JE.
Gronk has been back for weeks and JE has scored TD's in exactly one of them. No TD's for 9 games. None, zero, zilch. No TD's in a loss, none, zero zilch.
Welker is older and his time is limited but at this point he is out performing BOTH JE and Amendola.(combined) So do you like paying 7mil to a receiver that has played in less than half the games and has 1 freaken TD? Brilliant.
Welker has more TD's this year than JE has in his whole 5 year injury riddled, career.
Who gives a fk about LeBeau or any one else. I care about this team and BB has made many GM errors that have hurt the team. Many!
The facts prove that, not your gay obsession with the GM
