Gronkowski out for the rest of the playoffs

Last year, the Patriots had to try to win the Super Bowl with an injured Rob Gronkowski.  This year, they ’ll have to try to win a championship without him at all.

Gronkowski re-injured his forearm during the first quarter of Sundays game.  Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Gronkowski needs surgery.  He will miss the rest of the postseason.

The original injury occurred on November 18.  He returned in Week 17, catching two passes for 42 yards against the Dolphins.

He injured the arm again while falling to the ground, trying to make a catch.

Not really surprised by this.  Thanks for the update.  Definitely not good news.  The Patriots have made it this far without him for most of the season, but they could use him if  we advance to the Superbowl again this year.

Bummer, but ultimatley the play of our defense will decide whether or not we hoist the Lombarti.  We can put points up with or without Gronk.  Let's get him back healthy and back 100% next year!

Agree. The defense will decide wether or not the Pats win the super bowl. Probably will not score 40+ points again in this post season. The Ravens are Ray Rice and Flacco's bombs on offense. PI calls  (several of which were phantom calls) were the deciding factor late in that game.

Different from last year, we had time to get used to life without him.  Hernandez stepped up, and Vereen at WR was amazing.  We have a week to figure it out, Fells will be active, so it is what it is.

Interestingly, there seems to be a growing respect between the Patriots and the Ravens, the trash talk has calmed a bit and even Suggs is a bit more cautious about talking crap.  I will be very interested to see how it plays out this week.  I feel Harbaugh is becoming BB, reigning himself and his players in a bit.  That's bad for us, I liked the Ravens tendency to melt down in big moments.

They could put a cast on him and have him play as a wr w/o blocking. mike Fiorio is a tool. I'll wait until bb says he's out

Gronkowski needs to learn or be taught  how to play pro football!
