Interesting take on signing player like Mankins long term...

If I read it correctly the rules state any player contract renegotiated (not sure if that counts for a tendered player but I am guessing it does) can be increased no more then 30% above previous year. I wonder if they don't want to do a new contract till they can do a normal deal with front loaded bonus to be spread over length of the deal. I need to look into it further but I think That is why they have not offered a new deal to him yet.
If anyone has info on this let me know.
