    Jet TV Blackouts?

Interesting article on the slow PSL sales for Jets.  Rumor is there are close to 17000 unsold PSLs.  Could the Greatest Show on Turf be blacked out in NY market for home games?  Giants sold all their licenses.

The unique situation New Jersey has, with both a blue and green team playing in the same stadium, means they have to gouge twice as many fans in order for each ownership group to line its pockets sufficiently. One assumes there are enough football fans in the greater New Jersey area to support this, but what this situation shows clearly is that if you have a fairly solid organization with a long-term view (blue), your fans will support your efforts to rob them blind at every opportunity -- as Pats fan can attest.  If, however, your organizational history is a scattershot, knee-jerk melange of fumbling, bumbling, and occasionally stumbling upon success after the fashion of a blind pig in search of the elusive acorn (green) . . .   they will be less forthcoming with their cash. Rest assured no network executive with even the remotest shred of common sense is going to let New York advertising dollars fly out the window. There are going to be sellouts. Just don't be too surprised when a lot of the fans come dressed as empty seats.

Of course, on a positive note, it's fewer people Rex will have to call up before the game.

Gotta love the fact that Kraft is one of the few owners who didn't require PSLs in Gillette.

Personal Seat Licenses are the kiss of death for a team, because they guarantee the owner's money, win or lose.  Selling tickets on game day forces the owner to spend money on good coaches, on perks like a state-of-the-art weight room, on good trainers...  Then the team wins.

It's the pre-cursor to an epic fail of a season for the Jets.
