KRAFT ~ What You Didnt Know About This Guy...

Fortune Magazine just did an interesting piece on the Pats owner .

Did you know that the Pats former ownership offered KRAFT 75 million just to let them out of their Sullivan Stadium lease ?
( If he had accepted it ~ The Pats would have relocated to St. Louis )

It makes you appreciate the white-colored one and what he's brought to the Pats table over the years.

     Worth the read ...

Best owner in all of sports. If anyone wants to start a collection to build a statue in front of Gillette, Ill be first in line.

Agreed.  Hands down, the best owner in sports. It's not really close.

Seasons ticket holder, fan, investment manager, risk taker, leader, philanthropist, etc.

It's almost like a fairytale.   When your only complaint is ticket price hikes and parking prices after 3 SBs and this kind of success, that's pretty good.

Kraft is a local guy and life long Pats fan. There's no way he would move the team. Besides would YOU trust the Sullivan family in a business deal? Am I the only one here old enough to remember what a bunch of slimes they were?

No, you are not alone. The Sullivans were scum. Even Jacobs has more integrity than they did.

I almost wanted Millen to punch Patrick in the face out in LA after the '85 divisional playoff win out there.

They were hacks as was the organization.

For the record, our Patriots are still here because of Mrs. James B. Orthwein (Big Jim's widow) had the character to tell Big Jim that there was no way in hell that he was going to move the Pat's to St Louis.  Mrs. O. a former RI gal said her Dad and Brothers were life long Patriots fans and she would not allow the Team to be moved.  Big Jim got the picture right!!!  Bless her heart.

I called Kraft the MVP when NE won their first; could see (his) writing on the wall...mixing passion for the game/people/area with his business smarts.  He acquired the right people; supported them.  That was a brilliant article.  Thanks, for that.

Say almost anything you want about the Sullivan organization, but the family never would have moved the team out of New England.  The Victor Kiam and James Bush Orthweith Jr. ownership would have moved the team to St. Louis in a heartbeat.

As for statue for Robert Kraft, I do not believe a statue is a good idea.  Usually statues are created for owners after their death.  Let us not rush into creating a statue that we may want to tear down later on.

The Kraft's are great current owner's, let us not jinx them.
