Re: Lions released TE Tony Scheffler.

Scheffler suffered his third concussion with the Lions during the team's loss in Green Bay on Oct. 6. Attempting to make a catch over the middle of the field, he took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Green Bay safety Jerron McMillian.

The tight end was in the final season of a three-year contract extension signed in 2010. Scheffler appeared in 50 games for Detroit after being acquired in a 2010 trade. He caught 120 passes for 1,311 yards and eight touchdowns in those games.

The Lions currently have just two other tight ends on the roster with Brandon Pettigrew and rookie Joseph Fauria.

if I remember correctly, McDaniels and Shefler had a personality conflict while in Denver and that is why he ended up in Detroit. I could be wrong, but I thought that was how it went.  I wouldn't expect him to wind up here.

You mean er...he can catch the ball when it is thrown to him?

Are the Patriots ready for that?

Did you guys miss the part about the three concussions?

The guy gets cut, is it any wonder players try and hide concussion symptoms?
