Mankins or McNeill, who'll be the first to ink?

Two cogs on their respective lines are out of camp looking for new deals. Who'll sign first?

Both have been consistent for their teams and are thusly deemed valuable.

McNeil. The vitriol that Mankins spewed at Robert Kraft trumps any problems McNeil has with the Chargers.

Mankins insulted the owner; a very good owner.  He's either gone or he plays for less than what was offered before.  McNeil signs first, unless we're counting sign and trade...

McNeil will sign first, but hes a decent tackle not elite
on the other hand, Mankins is elite and in a higher class than McNeill

McNeil is a LT, Mankins is a LG.

Teams would trade an arm and a leg for a LT. A LG isn't a make or break player. Just a glorified FB. All they are asked to do is run out and make block a so the HB can have room to run or the same concept, but block for a WR on screens.

The LT position is used to protect most QB's blindside. Way more valuable.

If Mankins is the principled guy he says he is, unless the pats give him what he wants, he comes back for the games he wants, becomes a free agent at the end of the season and chooses his own destiny even if he can't get the same money.
If he is a principled guy, I'd be surprised if he allows a sign and trade deal.  Then again, money has its own set of rules.

McNeil will sign before Mankins and the Patriots are going to mess with Mankins plans to become a FA,they will put him on the PUP when he tries to comeback in week 10,meaning he will not achieve FA status until 2012. Eat DODO Mankins!

If the Franchise Tag is not stricken from the eventual new CBA what's to say the Patriots don't franchise him and trade as they did with Cassel?
