    Manning true only to himself

Down 30 points in the second half you would think he would have to air it out to have any chance for the win... but what did we see a barage of 2 and 3 yard dump offs that accomplished nothing...or did it... it seems that he did have an alternative motive....personal records at the team expence.....How do you set an all time compleation record in a super bowl and still get spanked as badly as they did....Manning has and will always be about himself at the expence of any team he infects...the greatest stat who.re of all time....

Making plays that took time and not going downfield too fast.  Did not appear to be any urgency to the Broncos offense other than Manning dumping off pass after pass.  No sideline stuff to stop the clock.  Most passes were easy dump-offs, what Seattle was giving up, to pad his end of game stats to not look so bad.

Rusty hates Brady as much as the trolls who infest this place do.  How else do you explain his digs at him are every possible turn when the discussion is not even about Brady?

As much as i don't like pooting I never thought he was going for a record. When your down 29-0 you have to pass to score quick, the Seahawks were only giving them the WR screens and dump off.  The had the deep stuff sealed off.

    "He was playing scared"

    :I think that's a pretty fair assessment.

He was also taking what the defense gave him, and it did work - for one drive.

I didn't see him throw his teammates under the bus after this one though. Overall he's a classy guy. From a losing standpoint I thought he handled himself better than Brady and Belichick did this year.

I feel bad for Peyton to have to live with that. I don't feel bad for our troll contingent here, and if something like this keeps insufferables like UD5 away for a while, great. Peyton is a far better person than his apologists (e.g. Marshall Faulk, Troy Aikman, and on and on)

I agree - he may have completed the most passes in SB history but he was throwing 2-4 yard passes to the sidelines 70 percent of the throws-Manning was and will be afraid when pressure comes and with his neck one big hit away from a wheelchair lifestyle we may never see the old Peyton ever again!
