The offensive line is going to have a long week in training camp. Rookie mistakes aside ... they are just getting owned by Detroit in the pass and run game.

This defense, Chandler Jones in particular, looks better than it has in almost a decade.

Again, forgetting the fumbles, drops, misrun crossing routes ... I love what I have seen from Dobson and Thompkins. They have talent.

    yep

Those are all rookie mistakes ... they cna be fixed.

How often do you remember actual outside WRs getting bhind the defense ... often?

    That cannot be taught.

Vanilla offense. I like that we tried to go with obvious run at that front 4

I hate that quick handoff.  The back has no room to be able to see a hole.

Unfortunately, McD and BB have failed to find a solution for the offense when Brady and the OL are getting manhandled.

IDK, I think a lot of times the receivers are covered and Brady won't throw it into coverage.

That's why he, historically, throws so few interceptions. When Bledsoe was replaced by Tom, it was a revelation.

Yeah, I love it. I was just pointing out that it is not all on the O-lines shoulders. A lot of times the guys just aren't open...

Yeah ... an F for the offensive line.  They can't even pick up more than a yard on 3rd and 6, when the defense is backed up.

Just complete ownership of the trenches by Detroit tonight.

Out of all the preseason game results that have worried me in the past, this one bothers me the least. Detroit's front can do this to teams and they are playing like this is their Super Bowl.

We know the Lions' front four is wicked. A lot fo this has to do with rookie miscues, and two silly fumbles from vets.

If Sudsy isn't carrying that ball like a picnic basket NE likely walkds with seven there.

I love the level of competitiveness I'm seeing from the defense. They are out there diving at the ball. They are getting aggressive with the offense. It's nice to see.

Chandler Jones, Nink, and Kelly are looking like a very effective team on third down too.

The results aren't there, but it is nice to see them trying out the running game in pressure situations. Running in 3rd and 6 ... FB dive (instead of the nearly automatic Brady dive) on 4th and 1.

Let them take their licks. There will be plenty of times when NE has to pass this season ... they've come up short more often when they've had to run.
