Killa, Phat Turd has no clue what he is talking about.  He just likes to pretend he does.

He still hasn't told us what he does for a living because he's too ashamed. lol

I have too agree with phatrex on this one ! The Nfl doesnt revolve around everything bb does ,Iam a long time pats fan and love what the tuna did for the pats  and then when bb came along it was and still is amazing. But  point blank bb learned alot from parcells and every other coach he coached under and was hHC of its called team work not one person runs a team all alone.

    What we learned:

    1. Phat Rex is still stupid.

    2. Laz posted FACTS (Parcells's record as coach and/or GM, with and without BB as his Def Coordinator.

    3. These facts illustrate exactly what Laz, myself and others have stated about Parcells being inherently overrated.

    We win.

Game, set and match, team BB.

    Re: Parcells Quits Yet Again

Parcells accomplishments are unmatched?  As coach or GM?

You can't have it both ways, Mr. Sneaky.

Parcells was a great coach in the pre cap era.  A good one in the cap era.

As full power GM in Miami, so far, he's failed.  He's also quit on 5 franchises in various ways, because his ego might take a hit.

He's not quite Phil Jackson of the NFL, but he's close.  Gotta protect that enormous ego.

    Re: Parcells Quits Yet Again

BB quit once because he had a better deal and legally had to take the job with the Jets.

Any one of us would have done the same thing.  The arrogance of Parcells to think he could use BB yet again, in fear of the reality (not looking as good without BB).

When BB left, Parcells also quit, which proves he knew he had to have BB there to make him look good.

As for Parcells, he was a .500 coach in Dallas with two lousy playoff appearancea, and his personnel job in Miami has backfired so far.

    And, he quit again.

    The pattern stands:

    1. He quits when it gets hot.
    2. His record without BB as Def Coordinator is average or .500 ("Parcells would finish his Dallas stint with a 34–32 record and no playoff wins.")
    3. He's proven absolutely nothing on his own as a GM.

His only successes are tied to BB at his side and his great job as a head coach in the pre cap era with the Giants.

If he had turned teams around with consistency without BB at his side, you'd have a case.

Great coach, pre cap.   Good coach, during the cap with BB as Def Coordinator.

Average, aging coach with Cowboys, without BB.   Average GM.

The myth has been debunked.  Case closed.

In Response to Re: Parcells Quits Yet Again:
In Response to Re: Parcells Quits Yet Again : Why do you have this incessant need to separate the two. Posted by PhatRex
This proves why you have a low IQ.  Maybe because they are two different jobs?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Exhibit A as to why Phat Rex is officially stupid.

Jerry Jones called the shots in Dallas and had final say.  He and Parcells apparently worked in tandem.

It is VERY RARE for a team to have both a GM and coach as one role.

In NE, Parcells didn't have enough say, hence why he quit during SB week in January 1997.

He was a coach first in NY and NE.  Only when he went to the Jets did he have control over personnel.

He failed there, as Herm Edwards was left holding the bag in the early 00s with some sch-muck named Terry Bradway as GM.  You know who that is, don't you,, Phat Boy?

Of course GM and coach are two different roles.  The irony is, there are only a few GMs and cocahes who do both, one of them being BB.

    Andy Reid is another.

Andy Reid has been a better GM than Bill Parcells. FACT.

In 2001, Reid was named executive vice president of football operations of the Eagles. He is currently one of three coaches in the league who effectively has the power of general manager, the others being the Patriots' Bill Belichick and the Washington Redskins' Mike Shanahan.

    Re: Parcells Quits Yet Again

As for taking a team that blew a slew of games in 2007 going 1-15 (with fans knowing they weren't that bad (talent wise) under Cam Cameron), but it being Cam Cameron as the problem, and improving it to 11-5, is a very good job.

But, that only proves that it was the coach, not Parcells. .Parcells hired Sparano, but how good is Sparano?

Better than Cam Cameron, but now he's shown maybe he wasn't a good hire, long term. So, good job to get a horrendous coach out of town and pick someone who is unproven and mediocre to coach, I suppose.  You would act like that was monumental. lol

Back to back 7-9 seasons might be impressive to you as a Jets fan, but to normal NFL fans, that's subpar.

So, yet again, we see a mediocre body of work from Parcells. A regression in Miami.

    Re: Parcells Quits Yet Again

What staff is good?  Don't you mean mediocre?

Sparano and his Parcells hired staff has them at 25-33 in 3 seasons.

This is Jets' fan speak for you.  lol

Wow!  Parcells has assembled a staff that makes a team mediocre!  Praise Parcells!

One, miracle season is somehow consistent success in your mind and should hold more weight than say, Andy Reid, being a very good GM in Philly and maintaing a high level of consistency.

Maybe Andy Reid, should quit and shop himself around every 3 years so he can satisfy his ego?

As for BB, he lost Pioli and many scouts in recent years, only now getting the infrastructure back into place. Caserio and Floyd Reese have helped streamline the process very well. No doubt.

BB has better infrastructure in philosopy in the cap era as compared to Parcells.

As does Andy Reid.  You lost this debate on Page 1.  You do not understand concepts well, and never have.  Low IQ.
