This defense looks vaguely familiar tonight. I don't know where I've seen it before.
    Maybe Last year.

It seems like our pass-rush is "right there" and our coverage is "right there" but neither is completely "there".

It doesn't matter how close you are, you have to sack the QB, or intercept that pass. Half-way doesn't cut it.

D looks terrible, but Brace looks good
and out playcalling on O is horrendous

Well been saying this the last few years, and not the only one, BB EGO is gotten way to big.  They should have brought in a legit d and o co-ordinaters.  This no name guys have been doing nothing for years.  The play calling is aweful, conservative and predicable on offense and soft and loose on defense.  Yea the players are to blame too, but the schemes they run have no change to succeed.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Patriots vs. Rams Game Thread! : There was one run back against the grain towards Burgess.  What other play are you talking about. No argument on Sanders. Now Bodden is in. Bradford />Sanchez

I know this is just vanilla play calling, but Burgess really got forced in on the run. He wound up at the NT position by the end of the play.

I'm not worried about the defense. Just wish Sanders would grab some pine.

Is this a bump in the road verse an underrated team where we came out too complacent - Or is this a serious cause for concern?

    Thoughts?

Serious issue or nothing to worry about?

FWIW, Burgess looks weak out there. Everyone on defense just looks sluggish and uncomfortable. They seem somewhat unsure and as I said, just a half-step late and unsure of what they're doing.

All this based on 1.55 quarters in the third preseason game of the season?

Rams dominating both sides of the ball.  Pitiful performance.

On that first down carry I liked the push by the line and the push by Morris.

We need to be motivated all the time, not just when we're down.

What game are you morons watching????? How can you say you are happy with this defense?????This crap is against the F'EN Rams!!!

And dont say its on pre-season - This is the final big tune up for regular season...Palmer and the Bengals (with TO who we could have stolen cheap) will torch thisa defense for 35 points at least!!!

Wake up people...This team will be lucky to finish 8-8!!!

We made no improvements in off season and you know it!!!

The offense cant score 50 a game... And as long as you dont pay your players the going rate you will loose...

The theory of win with average players that buy in and play above their heads doesnt work in New England anymore...

Wake the heck up BB and make moves in the right places!!!!!

To be fair, BB is switching personnel packages every other down. At least it is clearly visible on the line and DB crew. It looks like sub drills, where they sub you into a spot where you don't get reps as often on short notice to simulate game situations.

Nope..This has to be calculated because it is the opposite of everything we did in the first 2 games.

This scares me.... we all know that the 3rd pre-season has the most game-planning go into it.

If that's the case, and we actually planned our offense, I'm scared. It's disgustingly predictable and bland - very much like last year.

Hey, look at that, we got pressure and forced a bad throw with a 4 man rush.

McGowan almost made a play on the ball, why is Sanders still out there? And why isn't Gronk out there?

    Burgess added good pressure.
